I've set up my navidrome instance on my NAS after years of using a collection of ~1k files synced between my PC's and phones. I keep/seed everything i download so its a few TB at this point but only the best of the best make it to the main library. Whenever I had the time to download and screen stuff to add new stuff to the library I also removed any song that outstay'd their welcome.

With navidrome + symfonium/feishin I can easy hide anything that has no rating with one toggle so everything I "hate" can be out sight out of mind and still be easily accessible if i really want to see if my tastes have changed.

Do you screen your music at all in this scenario or do you just add anything and everything when space isn't an issue?

So far i'm slowly digesting everything i've downloaded through picard and there are some things I know i hate, but havn't deleted. The question is if it's even worth the effort to click a few times in picard and move it over to the server.

The external artist image sources on navidrome are a disaster for non English/mainstream stuff. Adding a dedicated image for thousands of no name composers of sound tracks is probably too much for me even as I slowly run everything through picard.

The various android music players I've used had artist images populated by a random album cover art of theirs by default and that was good enough for me.

Recently got a nas and fiddled around with lidarr and Plex but that was a disaster with how Plex(amp) depended on folder structure. (Various artists LOL????)

Switched to navidrome and symfonium and it ticks every box

Easy available offline toggle that can be controlled just with the favourites offline cache setting. All playlists/ratings/favourites are also synced with navidrome/feishin bidirectionally.

The offline toggle with various smart filters means I can have robust access my entire collection and only see what I want to see.

The now playing page customization is also the cherry on top.

The most expensive app I ever purchased but also a no brainer. Probably so many more features I haven't gotten around to testing yet.

It worked so well I finally got a reason to actually properly organize my entire library. I'll be done eventually...

One question I have is if there is a way to reach the playlists page in one input even even I'm not on the library page.

Also, what is the best way for a quick metadata edit for a single track/album on Android? The files are on network drive and symfonium/navidrome are ready only.

I'm looking for a music player that reads, creates, and edits playlists in relative paths.

No other features needed.

gonemad/musicolet only can reads relative playlists, but the moment you edit them they transform into absolute playlists

Goal: Sync music file and playlist creation/deletion/edits between PC and android.

Setup. One folder containing 1.1k files with no subfolders on PC and android

I have tried.every android music player under the sun, but they don't deal with relative playlists so my plan of using syncthing to automatically sync any changes in the library can't get off the ground since the file paths in the playlists aren't compatible.

I've also tried media monkey but it always wants so redownload everything on my phone in a new folder structure no matter what options I check. I also can't sync any deletions, it just repopulates what I deleted instead of also deleting the other end.

I'm finally trying to get playlists on on android and windows the same. The AI answers seems to be all hallucinations since it's not really well documented. The exact same files are all in one folder on foobar and android.
