Ok to jack engine up from oil pan?
Hi all,
I'm currently removing my transmission from my 1995 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III, and have disconnected 3 of the 4 engine/trans mounts (with a jack underneath the transmission to support both) - however, I was wondering if I'd be able to use a jack to lift the engine slightly to take the weight off of the singular engine mount once I take the transmission out.
I've heard a slab of wood on the oil pan is the way to go, and to only lift it slightly, just enough to take the weight off the final mount, and the oil pan is steel, but I just wanted to see what others think.
Thank you.
Hello all!
I recently imported an Evo from Japan, got all the paperwork done/signed through the RAV, and got the car roadworthy (tyres replaced, things you'd do for a car that's sat for a while and whatnot) and registered it.
The thing is, I never had to fit a compliance/import plate. Nor do I have the VIN number etched into the vehicle itself (excluding the chassis code etched into the frame
I'm like 90% confident that this isn't an issue, and that since I've already been to the department of transport and main roads with all the documents I needed to get the car registered and had it inspected by a qualified workshop and mechanic, it should be all good right?
Looking to see if anyone else who's imported a car has had to go through a certain process once their car arrived in the country. Thanks!
