Wanting to keep my fellow Krakens up to date.

It’s been a hectic couple days on my end but with some down town I’ve been able to put this together after some very calculated sculpting and gap filling.

I’m extremely happy where this has gone but had to make some permanent decisions that make me uneasy, it’s a control thing, that I’m sure I can work with when it comes to painting.

This project has been on my mind for months now. With the down time I have till I get my bits and pieces to start the Armageddon box set. I decided it’s time.

My sculpting has improved. My kitbashing has improved. My painting has improved. So what better way than doing something crazy like making our chapter master, Mezonyki Reio. I don’t typically follow the rule of cool because I want, as lore possible, DK army. But I had an idea and ran with it.

Sharing the concept and where I’m at now. I’ve made changes but for the better I believe. Also there’s still so much more to come.

Finished my Captain in Gravis armor and with him done my first space marine combat patrol box is done! I can start playing now lmao!!

Had a banner sitting around so I wanted to try a little free hand

My intercessors are complete. Knocked these out in three days and what I loved about them the most was the part I didn’t plan on. The tuffs! It was a last minute shake up that came to mind. Bioluminescent grass brings a pop of color that I’m going to implement on bases going forward. We are the Tide!

Getting back into it, my intercessors have begun. I’m a slow builder because to be honest it’s my least favorite part of the hobby unless it’s kitbashing.

But last night I was able to prime, highlight, basecoat with highlights, do their arms, lay down the metallic paints, and basically set myself up for a good weekend. I’m excited I might be able to get these done by Monday, which would be really cool then I can move onto my next project which I will share here in a bit.

Late to post, but my hellblasters are complete. Despite my lack of updates this one took me three days! As I’m trying to get faster at army painting without sacrificing too much detail I couldn’t be happier with the results.

As an update to my last post. I appreciate all those that reached out and reacted to it. I never meant for that to be a thing. The combination of wanting to paint well and represent for the chapter, grow in my painting, speed and accuracy, and the release of a new edition. I am overwhelmed but I have clear goals and a lot of you to thank for that! The tide swells brothers!

Armageddon and 11th edition is here and I have to admit I’m feeling super overwhelmed.

Basically what’s going on is that I’ve been into Warhammer 40K for maybe a year and a half two years or so. I don’t know a ton about Warhammer army building or playing the game. And now it’s 11th edition and all the new rules and all the new lore is coming out and some of it now involves the Dark Krakens, I don’t know where to begin.

One of my biggest gripes I have with myself right now is after customizing Captain Krijeni Luceior I’m considering doing another one with the Armageddon captain, but I don’t know if he’s going to fit any rule set or hero character that I can use to run an army. And as I write that, I don’t even know if that’s the right mindset for using a captain.

Looking at the army that comes in the box set of Armageddon I’m torn on what to do and on where to start. My mindset is to finish the combat patrol box I have and then move into Armageddon, but like I said, overwhelmed. Advice?

I’m moving fast with these hellblasters. As I mentioned in my last post. My want is to get faster at army painting but without losing some details. As a note I’m on day three of these bois.

I’ve decided that going forward non heroes or captains or any figure that stands out amongst the ranks will only have one major stand out piece to them. This could be lenses, bases, markings, kitbashing, sculpting, or in this case the plasma guns.

I think it’s a great way to get faster while still continuing to grow and hone my skills and army. Thoughts?

Veteran Bladeguards, properly named the Leviathan Blades are now complete. Very happy with these but I will say my free hand has regressed because I have not been practicing as much as I was.

Hail brothers! Ive been MIA for a hot while now, mostly because of work, but I’ve been able to get back to my WIPs. I can now call my heavy intercessions, complete. Which is great but I definitely see a lot of mistakes and things I wouldn’t have left off if it wasn’t for loosing momentum when I first started these five.

I did try something different here, I wanted to create an osl within the armor where the helmet sits. I’m so-so with it tbh. I need to get better with the decals as well but I’m happy once again with the kit bashing! Hopefully you all like them!
