Maybe I'm just too new to this to understand what's realistic for my skill level, or maybe I'm being overly critical, or both. After shading, I feel like this guy is looking dirty more than anything, and I understand some might like a dirty look but I really do not. I was really generally happy with the paint job before shading. I understand that cleanup will fix some of it but it seems like a lot of effort for an effect I'm not really enjoying.
Also, I know this isn't the paint's fault. It's clearly a skill issue. I see other's shading job and I am so impressed with it. I wish I could get something even somewhat resembling those.
Can I get some feedback? For reference, I've painted a few models but not many.
I recently purchased a combat patrol box to increase my existing army. I already have a unit of 10 blood claws and a single unit for Headtakers. I am tempted to convert the blood claws until into another 5 wulfen and 3 Headtakers using all my spare bits and primal hound purchases as live a bit for kit bashing
Blood claws or kitbash, what would be better army play
working on a forest themed space wolves. I like how their existing kits include things that go well with nature, and I just put together the sylvaneth spearhead so I have some forest bits. It takes a while because I am trying to modify each mini but it is enjoyable
Trying to do some different things here. These are the first Space Wolves I've tried doing some basing stuff with. I used head sculpts from older kits to diversify my army. I would really like to add pieces of fallen buildings but haven't really found anything that looks good aside from the few kits GW has provided with rubble on the sprue.
I’m trying to go for a NMM-ish on the armour, and think I went a bit too far with the contrast. Of course it’s still in progress and I have room to move.
How does it look with fresh eyes?
Should I add some of the midtone back? Also maybe the right leg’s brightness is a bit too high and the left arm’s a bit too low.
Thanks to everyone in advance!
Hey guys. Again still learning and I think I bit off more than I can chew. Im not good with the abbreviations that I have seen. My codex for the wolves gets here Saturday and as usual im trying to learn everything. (Impossible) but I cant figure out what units are approved from the space marines that I am able to put into my Wolves. Can someone be nice and explain what im look for on the Space Marines Codex that can help me. Thank you guys. Love this community.
As a kid my friend got me into reading the 40k universe with the book Space Wolf and later as a yule gift Ragnar's Claw. I loved the story and managed to get a few figures but never really built my army, mostly just a ton of parts, guys and a tank[?] but now I am moving to an area with a lot of people into the game and wanted to at least give what I have a chance. But thinking back on the book there where women fighting on the battlefield too, maybe I am forgetting who but I know Ana was described as a fierce warrior. So in theory couldn't any of the women be among the chosen during the battles? I know "Females aren't able to take the geneseed." but.....they drink from the cup that rewrites their genetic code anyway, so wouldn't it be a moot point about gender?
All of that to say, I'd like to make my army the Daughters of Russ maybe a bunch of jumpack troops as Valkarie? Is this possible or just heresy of the highest order? Sorry still kinda dumb when it comes to 40k most of my knowledge comes from a few books and what i have seen on youtube.
Hi yall, I was needing some clarification on some rules. I'm preping for a tournament this weekend and was refreshing myself on the 11th edition rules when I came across this.
Does this mean Ragnar gains the "Headtakers" keyword and then he can benefit from the Headtakers ability of precision and dev wounds? Or is it just saying the the Headtakers are now a character unit because Ragnar is leading them? I did notice the ability specifies "Headtakers models" and not "models with the Headtakers keyword".
I know Ragnar didn't benefit from it in 10th, but wasn't sure if that changed in 11th.
Edit: Thank you everyone for the clarification! I know now that he still doesn't benefit from their ability. I will keep the post up just in case anyone else in the future has the same question. Hopefully they can stumble upon this and get their answer.
2nd Headtaker I’ve done. Did better than the first one. Went with a dark paint scheme to catch the savage killer vibe. Added the skull on the backpack because why not they are headtakers.
Long running WIP is finally taking shape.
After many years of “some day” he’s ready to go Today. Even though he’s really just Bjorn I couldn’t pass over the Axe and shield bc it looks so awesome. Please let me know what you think! Three more nightshifts to go and I think I’ll be able to finish Arjac and start something else (TWC perhaps?)
working on the Leman Russ Primarch model
The Wolf King himself is ready, now I need to work on the base!
Painting my first mini ever and ive made the (probably unwise) decision of picking the headliners as my first. Will gladly accept criticism and tips 😅
