The page above shows the communications from Ultramarines Chapter Master Marneus Calgar, preparing to send chapters to Armageddon. One of those communications is with Dark Krakens Captain, Thaskos. As he prepares his ship the “Hunter’s Shadow”.

Thaskos is a whole new character, his name is likely a reference to two things. Those being, Thasus, who was a phoenician prince said to be a son of Poseidon. Who later founded the Greek Island Thasos, named after himself. This continues the island culture/mythology based in naming scheme.

The ship, Hunter’s Shadow, was not mentioned in the operation imperator reports with the other Kraken ships, Fathom and Eukarys. But because Thaskos is a Captain it’s most likely a Strike Cruiser. This has me thinking there might be more forces on Armageddon than originally reported. As we see the Death Spectres and Tome Keepers are now on the Armageddon.

We now have these named characters confirmed on Armageddon:

- Captains Thaskos and Luceior(5th Company)
- Lieutenant Avalos
- Axon(Rank Unknown)

And the Dark Krakens also now have 5 named Captains:

- Captain Noktil Bolas(1st or 2nd Company)
- Captain Eleroh Karib((1st or 2nd Company)
- Captain Krijeni Luceior(5th Company)
- Captain Thaskos
- Captain Uhimano*

This new lore comes from White Dwarf 527, and has already been added to the main collection of lore in the community highlights.

🎨: It’s the pre-order week for the Ork Codex so the only type of love space marines will be getting will be helmets put on spikes as Ork Trophies. But when the release is over the Space Marines will be next and the new space marine codex will be revealed shortly after.

📚: A few releases this week, the regular version of the new Bjorn book is up for preorder along side the illustrated and annotated version of the Prophet of the Waagh.

I’m guessing a decent amount of us saw the “Praetorian 7th” drama yesterday regarding the possibility of Dorn being back in the new Wicked and Warped book. Turns out it’s really just a guard regiment. Valrak is a solid rumor source but yesterday was blatant misinformation. We all know now a quote that’s taken out of context can spread like wild fire in the community. Though this could still be a wink and a nudge by the writer at the possibility of Dorn being alive.

I’m not really amazing with freehand. But basically calling him done. I think it has the essence of what I was going for, and it’s cool to definitely learn. I think it will rock on the table, or of the person who buys them will repaint them as the Armageddon banner. But either or. Only have one more to go. So feeling good and close to the end!
Really appreciate the support this reddit group has given. Dark Krakens are so cool and I hope people like what I’ve done with them. Even if it’s my own little twist.

This seems like the dog days of summer when it comes to updates for Space Marines, We’ll have to wait for major updates until the after the pre-order for the Orks codex which should be announced this upcoming Sunday or the next reveal show which will be early September, But keep the faith Krakens

🎨: Like stated earlier no major updates for Space Marines week, however! The Ogor Mawtribe bits will be going on preorder and I must say a lot of there parts, weapons and even creatures will have a lot of kitbash potential for Dark Krakens if anyone is interested.

📚: This week the limited edition of Galaxy in flames will be available for preorder, along with the paper backs of the new versions. The regular version of the new Bjorn the Fell Handed book will be available next week for preorder as well.

🎮: A hotfix 14.1 has been put on SM2 with some adjustments to weapons and customization.

This is a passage of Apothecary Arathos, while he’s fighting a World Eater. He is enraged and compares his grip on his chain sword to a child gripping bone, instead of it being clenched by black ceramite.

And that made me think if he says his hand is black ceramite, then more than likely, the rest of his arm is probably black or a mixture of black and bone. Which would be out of the norm for regular apothecary who wears all white armor.

We already know some Morifactor chaplains or at least Astador. Wear red armor with black skulls, so maybe their non-codex compliancy continues with the rest of the specialty classes.

As most of you have seen, we got an update plus confirmation on the upcoming live action Warhammer TV show, along with the rumored confirmation of a new animated series from the creators who made secret level Warhammer 40K.

The focus of the animated show will be the “Deathwatch” not to get it confused with Astartes 2 which is also Deathwatch themed. You can read the words of Sir Henry Cavill up there yourself. It’s said that the first secret level episode was just an introduction into this multiple part series. I’m very excited.

Which chapters would you love to see in the Deathwatch kill teams? Of course our Krakens would love to join the fray!

🎨: No new model news or releases this week, but the White Dwarf 527 is going to be available for pre-order, to have a heavy focus on operation imperator and will give details and more lore. Hopefully some of our favorite chapters are mentioned again. Fingers crossed.

📚: A new character novel will be available for pre-order this week focused on Bjorn The fell handed as he is awakened again as the planet of Fenris is invaded by death guard, I’ll be picking this one up myself. I hope it’s good and gives us a Russ flashback.

🎮: Patch 14 is continuing to be awesome. I don’t know if everyone received this but I did and I didn’t know it was shareable, but I received an email with a code: QDXA-812X-QFJF is used to download 200 accolades. The code was also posted online but in the email it said that it was limited so use it and see if those accolades get downloaded for you. Comment 👁️🦑 if you read all of this
