I’ve noticed when not including the first founding chapters, out of all the successors the Morifactors might have one most named death watch characters(if there is another chapter with more show them below). It’s very interesting, in the 7th edition deathwatch codex they’re seen as one of the chapters with the of the strongest oath of tithes when it comes to the watch.

In the book Storm of Damocles, you can see this laid out perfectly. As Watch Captain Nergui visits the Basilica Mortis(the Mortifactors Space Station fortress monastery) Chapter Master Magyar had Mortifactors ready for him to select to be the next member of the Watch, he picks Ellial. Who was said to be good enough to become a Watch Captain himself.

Morifactors have a natural skill for killing almost from birth with the way Posul works and that makes some of the best Deathwatch members. I won’t be surprised if the new animated Deathwatch series created by the studio that made secret level features more Mortifactor characters. The named Deathwatch Morty characters that I know of include

Artemis(Most famous or infamously)

Adoni, From Swordwind

Sobor, From Kryptman’s War

Var’myr, From The Infinite Tableau

Ellial, From Storm of Damocles

Molgurr, From The Flesh of the Angel

Skrael, From The Long Vigil

Unnamed(yet) Mortifactor, From Astartes 2

More to come!

This week we got some new lore tidbits about the Dark Krakens in the new 11th edition codex thanks to brother u/Qraith who got it early. We found out that the name of the Dark Krakens Honour Guard, who protect Chapter Master Mezonyki Reio are called the “Watchguard” and they use Glaives similarly to that of the custodies. That new lore tidbit has been added to our community highlights check it out if you want to see.

With this new rank added, I wanted to create a new flair in the community. BUT to me, the name Watchguard is a little bland, so for the flair, we’re going to add a little seasoning to it without changing the lore name. Below are 4 options for what we the community will call them, comment the name that you want the flair to be, the top 2 most commented names will then go into a vote tomorrow and that will decide the flair. But also you can comment your own name(Must have Watchguard in it)and if others comment that same name as well that could end up in the top 2. Choose wisely.

Watchguard Hunters
Watchguard Knights
Watchguard Elites
Abyssal Watchguard

🎮: Patch 15 for Space Marine 2 will release this Thursday very excited to test out chaos siege mode, along with all the new cosmetics and weapons. The Q&A from the dev team this week we got the news that the next class will be the apothecary biologis in gravis armor, which is awesome and we also got the small possibility that a future cosmetic could be the Black Dragons.

🎨: GW has continued to advertise their new pro paints this entire week. They have been available in store for people to test out and will be on store shelves on October 24.

This week will be the release of the new custodian’s codex along with new models as well

📚: Some new book releases this week, the highly anticipated book Cold Covenant will be on pre-order this week along with its special edition. Books like dropsite massacre, and apostle will be released on paperback this week as well.

Was kinda mind blowing

This week was filled with a lot of news and announcements. This Friday the 18th, There will be a new Warhammer reveal show that has a lot of people hyped as things like Legion of the Damned, Astartes 2, new models, paints and more were teased. Look forward to it.

Along with that, the new space marine codex will be up for pre-order this week and GW has slowly been releasing detachment and datasheets. Some may say the Space Marine range for table top has become broken, as these models and units have had major updates and changes that make them one hell of a force on the table. And have a clear advantage over other factions

For those who thought we lost firestorm assault and ForgeFathers Seekers in 11th edition, that might not be the case as, GW announced today that other chapters like the Salamanders will be getting updates to their unique detachments

🎨: There is a rumor that in this review show they will be showing new paints for the models. The captain with a bike, the multi part Vanguard vets and the new intercessors will all be available for pre-order this week ranging from prices all around the $60 range, local hobby shops may have lower discounted prices.

📚: Of course the new codex will be available for pre-order this week. Expect some leaks online from reviewers if you want an early look into the codex

Last week, a Raptors novel was revealed War and Shadow. This gives me extreme hope that more successor chapters will get their own novels someday and I hope that includes the Dark Krakens and the other sons of Vulkan

Helbrecht: Sin of Hope will be available for pre-order this week along with its special edition. Paperback of Master of Rites will be available along with the first Omnibus for the Dawn of fire series, crusade of vengeance, which includes three books inside.

🎮: As announced last week patch 15 for SM2 will be released on October 1. We will be getting a showing or community update on what’s coming in the last week of this month. Also announced today. There has been a lot of toxic behavior in the SM2 community which has resulted in Focus taking legal action, so please live up to Vulkans teachings and be a decent person within the hobby

That’s all for this week.
