Moving to Europe with no degree

Hello all,

I am 21, with no degree, starting out my career.

I have been doing research on emigrating to European countries for a few years. I am aware that it is nearly impossible to get into some countries permanently, especially when you dont have a great trade skill or degree.

I have been working in the dog/animal care field for 4 years and want to continue doing training or working with animals.

I really want to one day move to somewhere in the UK or somewhere close, but I know its basicallg impossible. I was curious if dog training/care was considered a trade skill that is valuable or wanted enough to begin looking into visas and sponsors.

If not, are there any adjacent jobs that can be considered for moving? Would I have a better chance if I went to school in the UK? Or is this just a pipe dream I should throw away?

Is this acne?

Hi all,

I recently found these small black specs over my cats eyebrows (where he has alopecia). Ive never noticed them before and wondered if it was acne because I know it can look similar. He doesn't have it on his chin or anywhere else where acne normally shows up?

I failed my dog

My girl is a 1 year old blue heeler. She has struggled with reactivity since she was a baby, and we knew it was something that needed to be taken care of.

I knew how important it was to nip the issue in the bud and train the reactivity out of her. But i was a terrible owner. I was lazy and hated the effort that it took to train out aggression.

Every time we would fail a session, I would get frustrated and give up for weeks on end. Trying the "straight up exposure" method. It was exhausting and frustrating always trying to get her to be better.

Of course, this hasnt worked. Its made her worse and I have seen her constantly suffering. The worse its gotten the more Ive realized how much I have failed her. She relied on me to help her and I couldnt do it.

We are going to start proper training and help her be less afraid. She's been bullied by several dogs due to her fear and I cant stand seeing her afraid and hurt anymore.

Despite doing the right thing now, this guilt is taking me over. Knowing shes been struggling and I was too lazy to be a good mom and take care of her. I wont ever forgive myself for it. I feel so evil and wrong for not trying to do the best I could.

Enrichment While Training?

Hi all,

I have a 1 year old heeler who has struggled with walking and reacitivity her whole life. We are trying to hone in on her issues and train out both leash pulling and dog/human reactivity.

As im sure many of you know, a part of training out reactivity is starting exposure incredibly slow- seeing dogs from feet away and gradually working up- and keeping exposure low until theyre ready.

This is posing an issue for her daily enrichment. While we have been trying to work on her reactivity, we decided to take her to parks (human and dog) to get her energy out as she is too stressed during walks, and pulls too much for us to handle her. Now that we are cranking down on exposure, going to dog parks isnt exactly ethical. We still dont have the option to go on full walks right now either.

What can I do for her that is enriching and keeping her exercise up without going for walks and parks for the meantime? It isnt permanent, just until she can handle it better. She LOVES to run and has a backyard, many toys and enrichment tools, but im worried it wont be enough being in her backyard playing.

Any tips for exercise and enrichment would be greatly appreciated. (Please no comments on current training, we are working on it )

Labret keeps falling out

Hi all,

Ive had a verticle labret lip piercing for about three years now. I prefer studs over rings, but every time I use a stud (on my lip and my nose) it always ends up falling out. Ive tried threadless and the screw ones, and both fall out.

Is there something I am doing wrong for these to fall out all the time or is this normal? If it isnt, is there something i can do to prevent this?

How long can a dog wait with a uti

Hi all,

About a week or so ago my girl started showing light symptoms of a uti. However she was seemingly better so I assumed it was a weird one off issue of being sick. (She had peed herself in her sleep).

However today she peed herself in her sleep again and seems lethargic again. I cant get her into the vet until the 5th or 6th when I get paid.

Is she able to wait that long to get medication/assessed?

Is New Masters Academy worth?

Hi all,

I want to make a career our of my art. While I haven't decided what career direction to go in, I know I will have to do some type of schooling. I do not want to get a degree and am looking at certifications instead.

I was wondering if New Masters Academy certificates are accepted in the art job world or if it isn't worth the time and money.

If it isn't, what are some other online alternatives for art certifications/degrees?
