Looking for a snowboard that can hold well on the icier days and carving in firmer snow but is not super catchy.

I am a high intermediate and i love to cruise, carve when there is snow and ride trees.

I am considering these and would love any input:

K2 passport (seems like a balanced versatile board)

K2 excavator (love everything about this baord, allegedly a good carver, dont know how it will hold on icy days)

K2 sky pilot (fun volume shift, idk about edge hold)

Arbor Coda (had grip tech for ice, but some reviews say its washy on carves)

Ride superpig (not sure if it will be slow to get on edge)

K2 instrument

K2 manifest

Open to other suggestions but this is what is available on sale in my size. I am 175lb, size 9, stiff boots, mid stiff bindings.

I have danner vital boots (non insulated). I have used them for hiking, backpacking and other ankle stability demanding stuff (construction work, moving etc). They feel narrow on me but usually manageable. I recently went backpacking in them and had lots of problems with toes being crushed widthwise. I have slight bunions which is not helping ofc.

I am looking into buying a new pair, same size but wide. I am wondering if anyone has experiences with these boots in wide vs regular sizing. I am curious how much wider EE are.

They are not available within driving range of where i live, so i will have to order online and hope for the best 😅

I am on a metal exploration journey.

I grew up listening mostly to alt metal, metalcore and some nu metal for many years.

(A7X, BMTH, Slipknot, Godsmack, SOAD, BMTH Gojira...)

Lately, i started going to a lot of metal shows which inspired me to explore A TON of bands. I read about the history and evolution of the culture of metal and proceeded to listen chronologically through the evolution of metal.

Of the older groups i love Pantera. Found out that i already knew and liked many of their songs not knowing it was them. Metallica, Anthrax and Megadeath sound more aged to me, too close to old rock. However i am well aware and absolutely respect their role in founding the genre. Slayer has awesome riffs and overall speed, but i could not find appreciation for the vocals (i think thats the whole point). Also the overuse of demonic genre seemed tacky to me but i know that back in the day that was an intentional culture shock.

Some other bands i listened to live and loved some of the songs: lamb of god, in flames, municipal waste.

I lately discovered appreciation for gutteral vocals when they are contrasted with more melodic sections. Jinjer for example just tickles something in my brain how she goes from smooth lyrics to super heavy splitting mid sentence.

Slaughter to Prevail was also awesome in their raw power. Alex is an absolute beast and sounds unreal.

I listened to many of the death classics cannibal corpse, death, bolt thrower. Didn't like, half the time cant even tell there are words in the background. Thrash is interesting because some of it is older and sounds a bit dated (testament, anthrax). Sepultura was cool though.

Some of my favorite songs from the bands mentioned above:

In flames: i am above, meet your maker, only for the weak

Lamb of god: laid to rest

Gojira: stranded, silvera, new found, the axe (love everything about these songs)

Jinjer: all (love the contrast)

So i am looking for help in terms of what bands to explore. Coming from alt metal and metalcore, i appreciate the technical guitar solos and legible vocals. At the same time i am finding love for the power i encountered in my metal exploration

Working on my first battle jacket and i am seeing a lot of posts saying that some types of metal don't belong on a battle jacket (nu metal for example).

I listen to alt metal, nu metal, metalcore, power metal and some melodic death metal. I dont listen to thrash metal but i love the thrash concerts since i love to mosh !

My back patch is A7X cause i owe it to them that i am into metal. I accidentally found the Nightmare music video on a school lab computer maaaaaany years ago and was hooked! Also the back patch is the shirt i wore to their concert and that is super special to me so i am stoked i can commemorate that.

But for the rest of my patches i am not sure what approach to take. I listen and love bands like Gojira, Disturbed, Slipknot, System of the Down, FFDP, In Flames...

However I have been to incredible events of bands i like but dont necessary listen to often: Lamb of God, front row at Slayer, Municipal Waste, Testament...

Moshed, crowd surfed, made friends. So the memories from these events are for life but the bands dont necessarily reflect my daily music taste.

Not sure whether to make my jacket about my daily music taste, memories from events .... or both

I have the Garmin I2 which i love and it lives on my wrist. I hike, snowboard, lift and sleep in this watch. Got years of uninterrupted biodata XD

The I2 is starting to feel dated and there are some sweet discounts on the I3 versions. I am curious about peoples experience on the battery life with the amoled version. Especially battery life with gps use (multi day hikes etc).

Also, i have a 17cm wrist and i cannot decide between 45mm and 50mm.
