This. shit. Feels. Bad.

even worse. there probably wasn’t anything in there to lose sleep over. let alone kill someone for.

Best home set up

so I sold all my GameCube stuff a long time ago. I’m sitting around watching clips wishing I didn’t. it then crossed my mind that I could get a Wii and have a tiny GameCube! but then I wondered if this is the ideal way to play? I want a couch set up to just boot it up when friends are over. but, while there are variables to control, I’d like to control them. for example, best output/resolution/input latency etc.

how are you guys doing it? would the diff between a GC and Wii be negligible?

edit: seeing all the CRT recommendations. Thank you, but… I want this on my main TV 😅 can a Wii be modded to Play well on an HDTV?

getting back into it

Hey folks,

I used to do screen printing at home DIY style and a friend recently started asking about it so I thought I'd get back into it along with them. Had the itch for a while anyway.

We're printing on shirts, and me being a dumbass, sold or got rid of everything I'd put together. That includes my exposure 'unit' (construction lamp).

I figured I'd just do it all again - head to the hardware store for some blocks of wood, the lamp, some boards for the shirts, etc. But I can't seem to find, of all things, mesh. There's stuff on Amazon, but I was hoping to find a reliable by the foot/yard/metre resources with a variety of mesh sizes. I did come across Holden's, but I was hoping for something in Canada or more international, cuz USD+Duties is insane these days.

Where are you getting your supplies? Any tips for someone starting from scratch? Most frustratingly, all the art stores I've gone to have had terrible, overpriced speedball options and that's it. FWIW, I'm in Montreal. If you know the shop that's actually serving the screen print community here, please drop a line.

Thanks for any tips!

Ok, I’ll admit it.

I feel a little bad. once marathon was emblematic of the industries complete lack of respect for players. but now I see the name and I just see the death of an all time greatest studio.

i know Sony cleaned the slate a bit, got rid of serious parasites up top. but recovery looks so unlikely. and dont get me wrong my hate stems from my expectations being betrayed between the teaser and release game. I wanted a different version of this game so bad. so I shouldn’t feel bad. but I imagine those devs at bungle scrolling the discord and seeing even their active players planning their demise… heartbreaking

Tips, Tricks and Tuts on Pads

Hey folks,

Been making Jungle for a long time, listening for even longer. I've never had hardware and don't really have that training/foundation to pull from, so I find it really hard to make pads. I've tried tons, from custom VST presets, paulxstretched samples, and more, but I'm wondering what the subs go-tos are.

Not just for VSTs mind you, but workflows/mindsets/techniques. I've always wanted to make the really heady, massive sounds like total science, aural imbalance, etc, but never know where to start. I want to make really cool, unique sounds, but it always just feels like poking in the dark...

Any experience on using crashed velodrome frames?

Specifically, aluminum that's fallen on the track. I realize there's many degrees of 'crash', but I just wonder if the conditions of the drome are enough to compromise a frame after a crash for good, or if track frames bounce back and are safe to ride or can expect a long life afterwards?
