Title. I am done with SHMA. I was hair drying the tail joint and applying lubricant for over 40 minutes and tail would still not go on whatsoever. Afterwards, the tail pincer snapped off completely at a gentle touch. I am currently sat here at my table writing this and staring at the cheap, plastic brick sat (or shall I say lying down, as it can’t even stand up without the tail) on my table that S.H endlessly farms out. I have not been fully satisfied with a single SHMA I own, so this was the breaking point. And i’m done with this company. The community is nasty, the figures feel incredibly cheap, and I have not been fully satisfied with a single one. They often feel sloppy and low quality yet cost a fortune…the plastic feels cheap, thin and fragile, the paint jobs are often sloppy, and articulation is limited where it should be looser yet loose where it should be tighter. All in all, the QC just, absolutely sucks. It’s such a shame, because visually this figure looks amazing. I adore the sculpt and paint (for the most part), and it really is a striking figure, but christ. The experience i’ve had has been really upsetting. I expect to be heavily downvoted considering this sub’s nature, but I thought it’s worth saying all this anyways. Im emailing and asking to return and refund. I’d get a replacement but I don’t want to have to go through this shit again. Perhaps I will get a replacement. Not sure. Waited 7 months for this to arrive…I’m pretty much done with shma forever. I’m likely going to end collecting and sell my figures as well. Truthfully I have not been satisfied with many of my figures, and looking back each feels like an impulse purchase and waste of money. While I loved them at first, and they were fun whilst first having them, i’ve fallen out of love with them, and have come to realise that i’ve been blinded by the impulse that drives you to buy these figures without thinking at all, and that myself and most of the figure community just unknowingly continue buying for the sake of it. I may be overreacting, who knows, perhaps tomorrow i’ll wake up and realise i’m being ludicrous about wanting to sell it all. But what definitely won’t change is my view on SHMA. Maybe i’ll buy from them again another day, who knows, but preferably if they get their shit together.

So atleast for now, goodbye, SHMA.

Edit: I suppose i’ve calmed down a bit now, and I doubt i’ll sell my whole collection off. Kind of said that in the heat of the moment. Tho, I might give a replacement for dest a go.

Edit 2: I’ll try a replacement and see how it goes.

Just watched the anime for the first time. What a truly incredible show.
