New 2021 Venza Linited owner with questions.

We purchased our new Venza in May. So we've had it for a few months. We live in Southwest Florida and it's flatter than Kansas. I'm actually a bit disappointed that we're not getting better gas mileage here.

One thing we've noticed is that in the morning, when starting our first trip of the day, the car will use EV mode while we back out of the driveway but then it's hard to get it back into EV mode for any period of time. It goes immediately to the cold engine. Is this normal? Does anybody else have this scenario of no EV when starting the day?

Thank you! We appreciate our fellow Venza Reddit community.

Help! Is this function lost with Alexa+?

We live in SWFL. A tradition on some beaches around here is for someone to play Taps on their trumpet/bugle as the sun sets. I created a routine that runs at sunset - announce the time, adjust the volume, play Taps, adjust the volume back, end.

Now, it plays taps but continues to play other military songs. Totally ruins the vibe. Any hints?

Max Out of Pocket - Medicare Advantage - what has been your experience?

I'm interested to hear from folks that have a Medicare Advantage plan and have, in the past, spent the maximum allowed amount - what happened after that? In theory, everything else for the remainder of the year is covered! I've heard some sad and scary stories. I know this doesn't happen TOO often, but would like to hear real life examples. Anyone care to share?

Thank you for your time and God Bless!

Seeking Advice

Hey all! I'm the current owner of a 2007 Sienna LE that took our family of six across the country - multiple times. 322k and still running strong(!) - kinda. We just purchased a new to us 2021 Venza as its replacement that should get us at least another 200k, but with the kids gone, it'll take a while.

Anyway, was hoping to sell the Sienna as a A to B commuter or work truck for $1500 to $2300 as it's not necessarily the nicest van on the road. But for someone out there, this will be great! We live in Florida and one issue we have had is the 'cold passenger air, warm driver air' situation. If I have any chance of selling this, it needs to be improved.
I've checked out all the actuator blend doors. Working fine. I've checked the coolant level. It's full. I've charged the AC system up a bit- no change. What else do I look at? I have done a full ac system replacement on a Honda crv, but for the Sienna, you have to pull the entire front dash (from door to door). Not ready for that diy job.

So why is the driver side still warmer than the passenger? It's not blowing HOT. Just not as cold.

After charging up the R134, the compressor started acting up. Brother. So I have no problem replacing it, but am starting to wonder how far I go? With inadequate AC, I may not even get $1000.

So help me out..... what are other options?
If you want to buy it, send me a direct message! 🤪

Footers for 4' cinderblock wall that will hide our trash cans.

I'm reading that I need a 12" footer to build my 4' tall cinderblock wall. Seems like overkill. This wall is simply to hide our trash cans on the side of our house. I was thinking a nice gravel foundation with a 2-4" cement footer.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond. Happy Memorial Day!

We are soon to be purchasing a newer Venza. Wife and I go back and forth on the pano roof.

I see so many people posting bad things, but often as "my neighbors Venza" or "someone once told me" etc.

I want to hear from ACTUAL owners. What are the issues you've had? Do you keep it open (allowing light in) or keep it closed? Issues with insurance? What else? My wife and I don't care really, but if the right Venza comes along with the pano roof, we want to be prepared.

Thank you! God bless!
