Let's Talk Pants

I'll be honest, when it comes to fashion, or effort into what I pick to wear, its very minimal.

Im more of a "if it fits its good enough" kind of dresser. However I have been trying to be more mindful as to how I dress myself and what would fit my body type best. One thing that got me thinking was low/mid/high rise in pants and what makes or breaks them for each person. Obviously there are many factors such as body type.

I added photos of myself for reference as I have all three, and shockingly enough (to me), I found the mid rise to look the least flattering. I honestly was expecting it to be the high rise after past posts in this reddit from other people with short torsoes. Unfortunate since they are amazing pants in both quality and comfort lol. I think its due to wear it sits on my waist.

That said, I do consider myself to have a short torsoe but I don't have much issue with high rise even when it sits just under my ribcage. I also don't feel like it cuts toooo much? Which made me wonder if I even have a short torsoe at all

As far as discussion goes, im curious to hear what rise people feel looks best on themselves and why. I find it pretty interesting how much something so minor can change the overall shape of your body. For myself, I prefer high rise. I find I can pair them with a looser fitted crop top which I feel emphasizes a more hourglass figure. But I also prefer the comfort of it over lowrise jeans

For anyone wondering, here are the jeans brands in order from left to right - 000 American Eagle, 00 Kimes Ranch, 1 (Vintage)American Eagle

A trip down memory lane

I rode my 5 year old the other day when my mom snapped a photo of us, and it reminded me of the top photo she took of me 7 years ago, when I first got my mare JoJo. I was 16 at the time, and it was my first time having a horse of my own since I was 10.

Alas, life had other plans. She ended up not being riding sound due to an injury that happened in someone else's care before we got her, and I grew up whilst riding whatever horse I could to continue my high school equestrian team up until I graduated.

JoJo was bred for a forever baby who was born just shy of me graduating high school in 2021. Here we are five years later in the same spot I was with his mama, and he's always giving me a run for my money 🥴

Jo has since moved onto greener pastures so its just me and her boy now. I'm so incredibly excited for his future though! He is incredibly athletic and very very smart. And fun fact; the saddle cross attached to my saddle in the bottom photo has Jo's tail hair braided inside of it so that she is with me every ride

Its a good day when your spunky five year old chooses to be a good boy

Its time for us to get cracking on some confidence building undersaddle to hopefully make him do his drill team debut next year 🤞 He also could make do with losing some chunk lol

Showing this the next time someone says to shop in the kids section

I was going through old photos and found some old gems of baby me from 10+ years ago (age 13 to 23). Back when I thought I was gonna be a famous YouTuber and go to collage. Plot twist: none of that happened lol

But it genuinely kinda surprised me to realize how much my body had changed in the last 10 years, and further proves why adult women rarely can shop in kids section. Simply put, they are not made for mature bodies. Once those curves came in, fitting in pants or shorts meant for kids never fit correctly

For reference, my measurements are 31.5-24-36

I don't struggle clothes shopping as much as I used to now that I have specific shops I gravitate towards.

For pants, I highly recommend Kimes, Miss Me, American Eagle, Hollister, and Echt (for workout clothes)

Tops, the best store ive gone to for petite sizing is Tillys. All their stuff went down to XXS and for the first time in my life, I got to shop without ever worrying if they had my size. It was magical and dangerous on my bank account.

While I don't fully consider myself an XXS, even with being a 000 in jeans, I do sympathize and hope my recommendations were helpful for anyone similar in measurements. It truly sucks how far we have to go to find flattering clothing

Time to bring lowrise back in the big '26

I caved and got a tube top via TikTok shop and not only does it fit like a glove, but it goes so well with these jeans. They sat in a goodwill bag for years but I think its time I pull them out of retirement for a bit

Attempting to revive an old pair of lowrise jeans I was gifted years ago

Please bestow any fashion advice for more tops that could go with these as I feel this tube top is really the only thing I own that looks good with the pants

What types of tops and shoes to go with these pants?

Back at it with another tub selfie haha.

Years ago I was gifted a bunch of clothes from someone and pretty much everything was too big except for these jeans.

They are my only pare of true low rise jeans and I love how they accentuate my hips but I have no idea what type of tops that would work well with it.

I do have a really cute tube top in blue that I thought would go well with it, and possibly a pair of vans. But I wanna try and wear these after years of them sitting inside a closet so any inspo would be appreciated! I am a high rise girly so this is uncharted territory

My little pookie sleeping soundly not realizing he gets a new buddy in a little over a month ❤️

The cat distribution system finds me in mysterious ways. My little stinky boy Cheddar was a barn kitten a friend had and I claimed him. He seriously is my little chaotic gremlin but has so much energy and none of the other animals can match it.

Today, two kittens were found abandoned inside a barn and I decided to claim another lil baby to add to the herd once it's old enough. He hopefully will have a playmate and my mom is getting a cat she absolutely did not want. Win/win!

Kitten is tentatively named Milkshake

Seeking recommendations for reputable 2nd hand websites to find a specific pair of Hollister jeans

I've never really bought clothes second hand and I think that unfortunately is the only chance at finding an exact replacement of my Hollister flare jeans. Photos of front and back and of course, the aftermath of who knows how many wears.

They fit perfect literally everywhere but ive had them for a good 5-6 years and cannot find them online or in person at Hollister.

Was hoping to be recommended some reputable websites to try and see if I can find a replacement. This is my last hurrah before giving up and saying goodbye to my ol' faithful pair of jeans

Where To Bra Shop

So I dont really consider myself an XXS on my upper half, but I figured this would be a good place to reach out to.

I used the bra that fits chart and it measured me as a 28C / 28D. Problem is, the only place I feel I can comfortably shop is VS which sized me a 32B, which I heard is their smallest band size? Anywho, they work fine. I dont really have an cupping issues or gaps, but did wanna try a 28B just to see if it did end up fitting better but ive no idea what good brands to look into are for that
