Where did Emily think Lorelai and Rory lived before seeing the shed?

I'm rewatching the episode Emily in Wonderland and she looks utterly shocked to realize that Lorelai and Rory lived in the tool shed. Where did she think they lived for years? I'm guessing Lorelai and Rory lived there for at least 3-4 years before Lorelai bought their place in Stars Hollow.

April plot line - may be it be not just bad writing?

Everyone hates the S6 April storyline, and the common consensus is usually just the writers butchered Luke's character for forced drama.

But on a rewatch of Season 2, something clicked for me that makes Luke’s reaction to April way more understandable psychologically.

Look at how Lorelai handled Jess coming to Stars Hollow. Luke was already terrified and overwhelmed, and Lorelai came in hot. She cornered him, gave him unsolicited advice, and acted like raising Rory made her the ultimate authority on all things parenting.

She talked down to him and made him feel like he was totally out of his depth.

Fast forward to Season 6 when Luke finds out April exists. He’s already insecure about his ability to be a dad. But deep down, he has this lingering trauma/baggage from the Jess era. He's afraid of being judged. He remembers Lorelai correcting his every move with Jess and telling him he doesn't know what he's doing. He's afraid of being overshadowed. Lorelai is charismatic, fun, and actually has experience raising a daughter. Luke was genuinely terrified that if Lorelai stepped in right away, April would instantly prefer her, and Luke would get sidelined in his own daughter's life before he even figured out how to be her dad.

Anna obviously gave him a convenient legal excuse to keep them apart, but the root emotional cause was Luke building a wall to protect his relationship with April from Lorelai’s overbearing parenting style.

He was 100% wrong for hiding it for months and treating Lorelai that way, but emotionally? It tracks completely with how their dynamic was established in earlier seasons.

Memorial/GoFundMe for Mani, who we lost on July 12th

Hi everyone. Mods, please remove this if it violates any community guidelines.

Tragically, we lost Mani in a skydiving accident on July 12, 2026. Our family has set up a GoFundMe to help support his loved ones and cover expenses during this incredibly difficult time.

If you are able to donate, share, or even just keep his family in your thoughts, we would be deeply grateful.

Blue skies, Mani 💙

Dark streak along my ceiling-wall joint. Is this a leak or something else?

Hey everyone,

I noticed this dark, shadow-like streak running along the joint where my ceiling meets the wall in the master bath shower, and I'm trying to figure out what's causing it.

It doesn't have the classic yellowish or brown rusty look of a typical water stain, it just looks like a dusty, dark shadow.
Has anyone dealt with this before? Does this look like a slow leak, or is it something else entirely?

Boston Skydiver Dies After Wind Gust Disrupts Parachute In Western Massachusetts

A 28-year-old Boston man died over the weekend in a freak skydiving accident in Western Massachusetts, authorities said.

Police in Orange were called to the popular Jumptown Skydiving in Orange around 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, to reports of a serious incident.

A preliminary investigation found the man fell about 30 feet when a sudden gust of wind interfered with his parachute during landing.

Anyone else bothered by Rory's nonchalance after stealing the yacht?

I’m doing a rewatch of se:6 ep:1, and Rory’s complete lack of genuine remorse, embarrassment, or guilt after committing a literal felony is so wild to me.

If the average person got arrested, fingerprinted, and put in a holding cell, they would be absolutely mortified. They’d be worrying about their future, their record, and how they let things get so out of hand. But Rory? She treats the entire situation like a minor, quirky inconvenience caused by Mitchum Huntzberger being mean to her.

She shows zero internal guilt for actually stealing someone else's property. When she goes to court, she genuinely seems to think she’s going to get a slap on the wrist because she’s "Rory Gilmore, good girl from Chilton who goes to Yale." You can see the absolute shock on her face when the judge actually holds her accountable and gives her 300 hours of community service. She’s not upset because she did something wrong; she’s upset because the world didn’t bend to her privilege for once.

I think this is the exact moment the "Gilmore Privilege" bubble completely solidifies around her. Lorelai and the town spent her entire life convincing her she could do no wrong, so when she commits a major crime, her brain literally cannot process the concept of personal shame. To her, she isn’t a criminal; she’s just a sad girl having a bad week.

What’s Lorelai’s problem?

I’m rewatching the episode S7 E2 and Lorelai and Sookie are having a chat and Lorelai says she told Luke about sleeping with Christopher because Luke won’t take no for an answer when he showed up that morning with a truck planning to elope. Sookie insists why it had to be a no for an answer and Lorelai says she doesn’t want to be married to someone who doesn’t want to be married to her. What the heck does she mean by that? Luke never said that. He temporarily put a pause on their plans because she offered very reluctantly by the way. Why does she cook up these things in her head? It’s fine she broke it off with Luke but saying he didn’t want to marry her is a lie.

Is the SSA office open and operational?

I had an appointment back in April to update my SSN and went to the Georgetown SSA office as instructed. Unfortunately, the office was closed and nobody answered when I tried calling. I later realized it was due to the government shutdown! Has anyone been to the Georgetown office lately? I'm trying to figure out if they are back to normal operations before I make another trip. The calls still go unanswered.

Lorelai is so embarrassing

Rewatching S3 E19 and they way Lorelai leaves the booster club meeting and corners Max in his office. Why? What does she want from him? She's with Alex for crying out loud and begging Max to not be weird? How dare she! She left him at the altar, almost. And now, she wants him to say that their kiss in the coat room was out of this world and he still has feelings for her. I am embarrassed for her. She bugs me to no end in this episode.

Why did Lorelai want to know before it happened

I’m rewatching S3 E14 and at the end of the episode Rory shares with Lorelai that she might have sex with Jess and Lorelai seems caught off guard which I get. Then Lorelai goes on to tell Rory if Rory can tell her before it happens. Why? What could possibly be Lorelai’s reason to know about it beforehand?

Lorelai’s top bitchy moments

I’ll start - the way she treats Rory and Emily in the termites episode. She is turned down for a loan by all the banks, she won’t accept money from Luke, she won’t let Emily write a check, she gets pissed that Rory even brought it up with Emily. What would she have done if it weren’t for Emily cosigning the loan for her? And, the way she treats Emily at the bank. It makes me fume!!

PS: this is not for people who worship Lorelai. So, kindly move on.

What did Richard expect when he invited Floyd over to dinner?

Why did Richard invite Floyd over to dinner? Did he want to be friends with him again after Floyd ousted him from his company? Richard hates him with passion but caves when Floyd smooth talks at the golf course. What did Richard expect would happen?

The way Emily and Richard fawn over Logan when they invite him and Rory to dinner the first time, is disgusting. Ugh, the way they go on and on over his lapels and Cape Cod and bug him with questions like if he likes children. Makes my skin crawl. And, ignoring Lorelai and insulting her by getting her drink wrong (who puts an onion in a martini), obsessing over Kropogs, and what not. Lorelai should have never gone to that dinner. Emily giving her the cold shoulder despite creating the mess she did with Luke and Lorelai. Ugh! Reminds me of my own grandma who’s like Emily.

These lovely mushrooms are from Coorg, a hill station in Karnataka, south India. They come up in the monsoon season and they’re an absolute delicacy. I moved to the states a decade ago and haven’t been able to find anything similar to these precious buds. Is it impossible to find these here? The scientific name - Termitomyces clypeatus (umbrella mushroom) and Termitomyces microcarpus.

What does Lorelai mean when she tells Chris that he’s the man she wants to want? Chris has always been a terrible person. What qualities in him make Lorelai say that he wishes he’s the man she wants?
