Is this a proper 540?
surprisingly only took 3 attempts because of my martial arts background, wondering if it fits the criteria for a proper 540?

Little part of a full cover that I think sounds nice😁
This is one of my favorite songs and I just had to do a new cover of it to celebrate a month of hard work! Here’s to what’s to come 🥂
Any input welcome!
I know it’s not perfect, but I’m proud of it given how much trouble this song gave me originally (first try a month ago was so bad lol).
Let me know what yall think!
Recorded in my car and added a little echo
*if anyone is curious, the thing you see on the screen is just me running the original audio through an app that has some presets for audio mixing. It’s pretty neat!
I’ve been practicing singing for a couple weeks now with help from the internet, and it’s been so much fun seeing some progress in real time!
I know there is a lot to work on, but not being disappointed by what I hear back has been a huge step in the right direction for my confidence, and I can’t wait to see what happens in the future😁
Recently decided to try my hand at singing, and I’m posting this both to conquer my fear of posting my voice and to hopefully get some helpful feedback so I can improve!
From my own analysis, I believe I tend to subconsciously overdo vibrato and “scoops” possibly to hide fluctuations in pitch? I also have no idea what chest/head/other voices are and am mostly navigating my range off instinct, which I would hopefully like to work on!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated😁
Used to play the alto in a competition band, but put it down for a couple years due to some insane burnout (pressure/stress of competition at a young age really took it’s toll on my mental health).
Recently picked up the instrument again to play some gigs with a group, and although I’ve definitely lost some chops, I’m having a ton of fun playing the music I enjoy playing, at my own pace.
Took these clips from a 9 minute solo improv session (warmup for a gig). Enjoy!
My journey began in my late teens (seen on the left). Apologies for the somewhat blurry quality, but I did not take many pictures of my face at the time due to insecurity surrounding my breakouts and hormonal acne.
Starting at 16 years old, I began noticing small bumps deep under the surface of the skin on my cheeks. Soon after noticing these bumps, they began developing into raised, purple/red cysts -what I soon discovered to be hormonal cystic acne.
Throughout the next few years, I went to numerous dermatologists, who would write prescriptions for various medications (tretinoin, clindamycin, and a few other prescription topical creams) to varying success. I remember waking up some days during this period with skin so dry it would flake off like chipped paint. On top of that, the cysts would always come back, often larger and more painful than before I even sought treatment.
As you can probably imagine, the damage to my skin caused my self esteem and general confidence to plummet. I was fed up and frustrated, and decided to make some serious changes (before committing to acutane) that lead into the present day. I could go into serious detail about what led me to my current routine, but this post would go on forever, so I will summarize below in order of priority:
Diet
Finding a diet that fit both my hormonal and skin profiles made, by FAR, the greatest improvement to my skin. The biggest changes in made in this regard were cutting out dairy and whey almost entirely, and prioritizing lean meats and healthy fats while ensuring adequate water intake. With my current diet, instances of inflammation and oily skin are few and far between.
Products
through half a decade of experimentation, I have found that simple is almost always better. With a basic routine, I find that maintaining a consistent skincare schedule becomes much easier to do (and we all know how important consistency is for skin health).
In the shower, I use a generic moisturizing foam cleanser. After the shower, I use a generic retinol cream spread evenly across the face, followed by a ceramide moisturizer cream that does not contain alcohol. The combination of these products, over about a two year period, has dramatically improved clarity and hyperpigmentation, and reduced the occurrence of surface breakouts to almost none.
Hygiene and lifestyle
I have always been fairly hygienic, but by making a few small adjustments( like frequently washing pillows and sheets, cleansing after exercise, etc…), I have seen some improvements in skin health, especially when it came to those annoying morning breakouts I would get on my nose and forehead.
Final notes
Throughout my journey, I’ve come to find that trial and error is VERY important to discovering what works for you. Every person is unique, and every person has different needs when it comes to their skin. Though I’m sure that what I do is not perfect, I now have a solid understanding of what products/ingredients to avoid, and what I know is safe and/or effective for me. If you find that a product is making things worse over a long enough period of time, (true progress is never usually instant), try something else!
I hope this post provides some use to anyone suffering from the same issues that I have dealt with, and if that doesn’t apply to you, then I hope it inspires you to tough it out and stay motivated. I still have some lasting damage from my teens, but I am so proud of how far I’ve come, and with enough dedication, you will be too.
Looking for advice on my approach/ two foot jump execution
I’ve always been naturally bouncy at 5’11, which I think has caused me to neglect working on proper jumping form as I can dunk fairly consistently with the type of approach/jump shown here.
That being said, I’ve started to notice that my jump- to-jump consistency is pretty bad. On some days I can go from flushing dunks super cleanly, to something in between (like the dunk here), to barely tipping the ball in with the tips of my fingers, all in the same session.
I want to build consistency through proper queuing, and use that consistency to maximize my jumping potential.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Did three round of those, last attempt was a bit further (~9.7m if I had to guess) but sadly did not get a recording.
Recreational sprinter here, just looking for advice on anything I can improve on with my technique.
First time calculating RSI so I may have done something wrong lol.
Ground contact time: 200 milliseconds
Flight time —> jump height: .7 seconds or 23.8 inch vertical jump
Two different RSI calculation websites gave me scores of just over 3.0, which is apparently elite.
I have always been more of a strength/concentric - based two foot jumper, but with this info, I feel like I’m wasting some elasticity with my approach to jumping. What do you guys think?
Wondering if I’m in 10%-12% range
These things piss me off
Video taken moments before torrencial downpour lmao
First time singing on camera (I’m the male voice)! Had a ton of fun playing/singing on this one 🤘
