Transitioned into keto around 6 months ago and haven’t been able to reach therapeutic ketosis could use some advice.
I started keto around 6 months ago maybe more for weight loss but also to see if it would help with mental health etc. while I’ve lost weight which is my main goal I haven’t been able to get into therapeutic ketosis 3.0+ unless I fast for 5+ days. As soon as I start eating it goes way down ranges from .2-.3 ketones.
Now I get numbers may not matter to most of you but when I hit 3.0+ when fasting I feel better physically and mentally not much but it helps a little I just don’t understand what I’m doing wrong when I start eating.
I’ve tested my numbers throughout the day multiple times per day since the beginning using the keto mojo since urine etc seems to be super unreliable based on my research.
While I’m reaching my main weight goal my new goal is to stay in therapeutic ketosis for the mental benefits I could use some advice on how to do it.
I drink around 64-128oz of water per day eat one meal per day although not very active but I’m working on it. I linked some pictures of my meals. You’ll notice I pretty much eat the same 2-3 meals I really haven’t cared about variety just been keeping it simple stupid during the initial weight loss.
Started close to 300 now 190 looking at 140 maybe a bit more since starting a few years ago.
There’s a little more variety but recently deleted MyFitnessPal and moved to Cronometer so don’t have much data
Chicken
Ground Beef
Pecans
Cheese
Electrolytes
Spices
Butter
Eggs
Protein Powder 0 Carbs
Nova
Tuna, Egg salad with just mayo and salt pepper
Don’t really eat any vegetables I was the first month or two but wasn’t worth the constant trips to the grocery store like stuff I can freeze and forget about or just won’t go bad after a few days so just been sticking with the above foods.
I don’t think I’m doing anything that should be preventing me from reaching therapeutic ketosis but again could use your advice. I know eggs and cheese have carbs along with the spices but don’t go over 20 net.
