Got curious about this group…

Hello, I’m 27M and I love to interact with fellow Redditors as I find the anonymous people more interesting than regular people for some reason.

Reddit is full of surprises

I’ve got something to share. When I moved to Bangalore 2.5 years ago, it was a lonely city and I made Reddit account about that time since I wanted to get info about credit cards.

However as I stayed here alone away from family and friends, being an extroverted guy who loved to take risks I started meeting Redditors. I love the rush if my kidneys would be safe or not but I met such amazing people through this sub. I love cooking and playing guitar and in the past 2 months itself I hosted 2 guys and 4 girls and it was so much fun. To be honest, Indian Redditors are way more fun than Americans too judging from my time in USA last year.

Don’t be lonely creeps people, touch grass, take risks and meet Redditors. You’re gonna have the time of your life provided you know how to screen people xD

Help me understand Cred IndusInd card

Hey Redditors, yesterday I got approved for the Cred IndusInd credit card with some 2.4L limit and it got activated as well although physical card is yet to arrive. Now I’m confused about the 5% CB.

Please help me understand whether to get 5% cashback over online platforms, do I need to pay using credit card as payment method on the merchants (card number plus OTP) or can we pay using UPI via cred as well?

Also, I order a lot of stuff from Zepto, Swiggy, etc. So in order to maximise the CB, shall I buy GC from Cred using this card and use over the website or whether using this card directly over Zepto to pay would be the same in terms of returns. Thanks!

University change after Authorised Leave of Absence

Dear All,
I have an F1 visa valid till 2030 and I entered USA for a PhD in university X around 13 August 2025. I stayed for 2 months and due to a family emergency I had to return to India around 2nd October 2025 on an authorised early withdrawal/leave of absence.

Fast forward to today I am planning to attend university Y and I’ve gotten the new i20 and have paid the Sevis fee.

I wish to ask if my existing visa (issued April 2025) will be eligible to return to USA provided that both the Sevis ID and university name would be different and I’m more than 5 months outside the USA.

Please help me out.

Thanks for your response.

Dear Redditors,

I’m moving to Baltimore this fall as a PhD scholar at JHU. I’ve been reading about the city and one thing that struck with me is people claiming that this is one of the dangerous cities of the USA crimewise.

As a brown foreigner, how safe it is and in which areas should I be finding accommodation. It would be helpful to know if people are welcoming for foreigners and which areas to avoid.

Also, are the buses safe since in the initial few months I won’t be having a vehicle.

Thanks for your time and I appreciate your advice.
