Tips on things to do in or out of the city on a two day trip but hoping to avoid a lot of traffic

Hello, I am coming down from Humboldt for a Drs. Appointment on Parnassus. Wondering if they are any great restaurants nearby the doctor’s office or parks that are within walking or biking distance or E bike shops where you can rent a bike.

I love museums and being out in nature and thought about visiting the conservatory. Japanese bonsai Garden, but I am a little nervous about driving all over the city and want to avoid a lot of traffic.
Any cool places/good restaurants that will give you a experience? I love ethnic food and thought a Turkish or Moroccan style restaurant would be good especially if there’s belly dancing or something to see or if it’s a restaurant with a nice view, relaxing atmosphere. Also love Hole in the wall places too with good food.

Also love being away from lots of people so I thought about possibly staying in bodega Bay and then coming out from San Francisco and also wondered if there is any cool places within an hour from the city that are worth checking out.

Any cool hotels or places or districts to stay in with less expensive rooms where I could commute in? I’ve tried doing research but haven’t fell in my bearings yet on where to stay what districts are laid-back. My favorite things are meandering around town, thrift stores and artist/makers markets, art galleries, interactive museums, good coffee..
Looking for somewhat of a laid-back experience inside of the city!

I’ve never had anything like it and can’t figure out the flavors that were in it.

Are there any sauces from restaurants or that you make that home that blow your mind and made you want to have it over and over?

If so, which ones and do you have recipes?

Spending one afternoon and one full day in LA & wondering where to go and what to do? Is downtown LA better or the Grove?

Hi everyone! 😊 We’re flying into Burbank on Tuesday around 2:30 p.m. and have an 8:00 a.m. appointment at Cedars-Sinai the next morning, so we’re trying to make the most of our short trip without spending it in LA traffic.
We’re planning to stay near The Grove/Beverly Grove (possibly Short Stories Hotel) to stay close to Cedars. Open to ideas if you have better place to stay in the area near everything.
The idea is to explore the area, enjoy good food, and see the evening lights. After the appointment, we’ll have the rest of the day free before heading to Burbank to stay the night and wake up for an early 6am flight.
A bit about us:
● Love gardens, nature, prefer great local places over fine dining (will prob have brunch at the Republique cafe unless there is something better in the Cedar Sinai, Grove area)
● Enjoy local art co ops, artisan markets, thrift stores, weird interactive museums, sound baths
● Already visited Malibu, Santa Monica Pier, and the Getty
Ideas we’ve considered:
• Exploring around The Grove for food/shopping
• Natural History Museum (for the butterfly pavilion)
• exploring a beautiful garden and walking throughout nature.
Open to other ideas and wondering if downtown LA is better than The Grove
With about a day and a half and a goal to minimize driving, what would you recommend? Any favorite spots, neighborhoods, gardens, or food nearby?
Thanks so much! I’d love to hear your suggestions.

Hotel Recommendations for 1st time visit - The Tangerine or The Burbank Hotel?

Hi there! I am looking for recommendations on hotels and wondering which ones are within walking distance to good restaurants or shopping! I’ve never been to the area but looking for a budget friendly hotel within walking or short driving distance to every thing mentioned. Open to other hotels but both of these looked nice enough : )
