Found Pitchfork on Switzerland

Like the title says, I found a short handled pitchfork on the side of Switzerland North today…and like…just want to know why the hell someone would take a pitchfork with them wheeling?

I’ve been wheeling for almost 20 years now, and out of all of the tools I’ve ever wished I had with me on the trail that was never one of them. But I guess now I have a pitchfork in the back of my rig…

Fresno County, CA Targeting LGBTQ+ Books

If anyone is in Central California, I strongly recommend keeping an eye on what’s going on with the Fresno County Board of Supervisors. The Chairman and all around fascist Garry Bredefeld is leading another charge to ban books with LGBTQ+ themes from libraries.

Check out r/Fresno for more information, there are a few threads there that chronicle Bredefeld’s push to censor queer material.

Chainsaw Mount

I usually try to carry either my 12” bar Makita electric or my 20” bar Stihl gas chainsaw with my when I go 4-wheeling, and am trying to come up with a good way to mount the saw to the roll cage. I currently just secure my saw(s) to the tub using the footman loops and some bungee cords, but really want to free up that floor space. What do y’all’s do?

Persona

*Warning - The point of this thread is to discuss plot points and themes in Aoifi Clements 2026 novel Persona. Do not read past this point if you haven’t yet read the novel, it will spoil significant segments of her incredible but brutal novel.*

I finished reading Persona a couple days ago and I’m still trying to wrap my head around the exorcism scene. What the hell happened with Silus?

Amy’s childhood memories weren’t real. At least not in a literal sense. The clawed shadow in her bedroom and her suicide attempt never happened, or at least not like that. Yet Silus, in the midst of the cocaine fueled exorcism, seemed to see Amy’s memory of the claw and attempt to kill himself in a mirror of how Amy remembered her suicide attempt.

The book suggests that people like Amy and Annie might be able to share memories telepathically. I’ve seen it suggested that Silus’s reaction indicates that he’s like them, but if that’s correct how does that play into the narrative of the story? He doesn’t seem to fit the roles that they were created to fill. He is a theology graduate student whose work seems to be entirely philosophical, which is almost the exact opposite of the hyper commodification behind Annie and Amy’s existences.

Just wanted to give a shout out to the two man brass band at A-Basin today. Y’all’s were delightful to hear. Also, props on skiing west wall with instruments.
