My HoF experience as solo FMC

Overall, the game is quite enjoyable except for the opening sections (and some fight in ToL). My playthrough generally followed this progression:

  1. Early game (until Animate Dead spell) - extremely tedious, as a cleric must rely heavily on kiting goblins. Your THAC0 and AC are awful, due to enemy stat bonuses (–11 to AC and –3 to THAC0).
  2. Animate Dead to Aerial Servant - much more manageable, though kiting remains the primary strategy.
  3. Aerial Servant to Black Blade of Disaster (BBD) + Improved Haste - basically normal difficulty, with some exceptions. Your AC and overall survivability improve significantly. Moreover, Aerial Servants' immunity to non-magical weapons effectively neutralizes 80% of enemies until chapter 5–6.
  4. Black Blade of Disaster to Time Stop - easy mode. Your stats become overpowered; you can eliminate most enemies in 1–2 rounds despite their tripled HP bonuses (x3+80).
  5. Time Stop to final battle - story mode. Unlike in BG2, neither Icasaraht nor the final boss resists Time Stop, which means you can combine time stop and BBD.

What i particularly disliked is that some enemies in Tol have automatic dispel casts (cleric in the beginning and rakshasas). I think this a cheap and unfair way to raise the difficulty of the encounter.

What is better mathematically?

A flail that has 1 additional attack per round

or

a flail that has a 15% chance to stun enemy on a hit for 4 seconds

(Flails have the same thaco)

Maybe someone who knows maths better than me did it before

EDIT: thanks everyone for the replies, unfortunately I didn’t get this weapon from loot table

How bad is this build for swordflight

I wanted to make dual wielding fighter/weapon master, that specialises in long swords/scimitars (I haven’t chosen the weapon yet)

I know that it’s not optimal and it’s better to use small weapon, but I really like longswords/scimitars

So from my basic understanding of ambidexterity and two weapon fighting feats is that, I will have a -4 penalty for both hands (correct me if I’m wrong)

Anyway my question is how bad this build will be for the module on dnd rules?

Can’t execute command to get achievement

I’ve beaten Mephistopheles on hard difficulty setting, but I still didn’t get the achievement.

Looked on Reddit and there was a post on how to do it, and the recommendation was to type command below

UnlockAchievement(OBJECT_SELF, "CgkIoOjyva8PEAIQKA");

It didn’t work for me, maybe someone else had this problem

Continuation of my struggles in chapter 2

This is part 2 to my previous post. I quickly replayed the last section.

I was able to free dorna. However it doesn’t solve the problem with shield guardians, she can’t hit them, and even if she does the log states that it takes zero damage (she has +2 scimitar, and +13 on first hit).

Funny enough she was able to hit guardian in the previous chapter.

I’m still lvl 9 sorcerer, so I can’t do anything to the guardian, is there any way to pass this quest in my situation or am I stuck?

How can I return my henchman from stone chapter 2

I can’t progress further, since I don’t have any lvl 5 spells to damage shield guardians (I’m a lvl 9 sorcerer).

I don’t have any stone to flesh spells/scrolls, the slave merchant doesn’t seem to have one either.

Do I need to replay the last 2 hours to keep the potion from the ruins or there is another way?

How cool am I 😎 ? Jk

First time playing this game, I was able to defeat Jnah as a level 5 sorcerer without any help (I didn’t think I needed to side with gnolls) or any elemental protection spells.

You might ask how I was able to do it?

Well, I spend 15 minutes luring her guards and Imp outside of the area and then another 15 minutes finding the perfect moment for me and Dorna to kill her before she casts elemental circle (idk what the name is) and globe of invulnerability.

don’t know how, but I got it. Funny thing is that I don’t think I rested particularly rarely (I even rested a bit to farm scrolls).

Also, I think I didn’t max out crusader stats (level 8 or something)
