The award nominees have been added out and we have filtered out those that do not fit (sorry guys, a fic with 3800 kudos, is not actually underrated, at least not in award terms).
What we have left is for your viewing pleasure! but we need your help.
Did we mislabel something? put your entry into the wrong category? completely miss your entry?
Whatever it is, this is where you let us know.
We are only human, mistakes happen, we are purposefully giving you the time to let us know where we went wrong.
To give another example, did we accidently contradict our own parameters? as in, do you see a fic from 2024 in best ongoing? this is where you can let us know of that as well.
A few notes:
Not all the summaries are done, it's only two of us working on this and it's a long process, but they should be done by tmr, that said, I need to tweak best fic series a little so it's separate to when a fic by that author is also nominated.
Also, the Original Premise category is going to be double checked, we wish to be sure that the entries aren't actually rather common, so take what's there with a grain of salt, but remember we don't censor ships or anything like that, this is just to make sure everything is fitting the parameters (yeah, probably won't be a returning category, whose up for Best Crack fic 2027?), it's unfortunately a little bit subjective. One of those things that sounds cool, but is hard to work out when in practice, that said, I don't think anything is that egregious.
I gave a little bit of leeway for best underrated, as I hinted at above, yes we did get a fic with 3880 kudos, the limit was actually 250 kudos, however, I turned a blind eye if an entry was at up to 300 , why? because it's still just about on the line and because the fic could have been entered the first day and 5 weeks later could have double the kudos, but I can't turn a blind eye to something with 4 digits.
There will of course also be one or two missing that we filtered out due to not fitting the timeframe, or not including for example, the ship being nominated. If we have a reason for a fic missing in a certain place, we will tell you, if it's a mistake, we will fix it.
But yes, again, this is the time period where we fix mistakes, there's only so much proof reading a limited amount can do before their eyes begin to miss things.
So help us fix the issues before we start contacting authors over the weekend.

It will continue to be updated as the months move on, remember that we do have limits for authors on how many times a fic can appear, this gets addressed when we contact authors, not yet, that is over the weekend all going well.

Hi all, I have my test next Tuesday and I'm just wondering something.
I'm hiring a car from my instructor and it's going to cost abit so I want to be sure.
My middle name is on license, would I be right in saying it needs to be on the insurance in order for me to do the test? Or are first and surname fine enough?

it's time for the first official check in, the one before was just a bonus.
I edited the google document to include any and all entries so far. Last time the google document nominee was at 31 and now it's at 57, we also got a few more reddit entries, so it was worth updating things again.
As per the last time, use this as your chance to double check what has already been nominated, if a fic you like has already been nominated for best ongoing, then there is absolutely no reason to nominate it for best ongoing again. Check the google document link and search via Ctrl+F , you can of course use this as a reading list as well.
Noe remember, the lists are high at the moment, but when the category limits kick in, in October via outreaching, they will shrink. There's also a very high chance I missed a duplicate or two, I am still a little bit sick lol.
So yes, numbers may be off, stuff may be missing, consider this a preview and point that stuff out to me.

The next fic for this month, takes us to Spacebattles for Purple Days. Which is a Joffrey Baratheon timeloop AU.
For spacebattles they have likes instead of kudos and you can like every chapter, so I will not be going to add them all up, but I will say it is completed with 800k words!

For the last fic of September's class, we got Closer To Gods Than To Men by orphan_account. It's a Dance AU
it sits on AO3 with 248 kudos, 39 public bookmarks and 33k words.
The summary reads as follows-

So, awhile ago I came across this reddit extention called a home post.
It's basically a combo between stuff from the sidemenus and the wiki, as well as pinned posts.
It's all in the one place and ideally it would be the only thing that's pinned (with exceptions of course), you then go along to whatever section you want to go to by pressing the more button.
So far I have
Home button which represents the most up to date ongoing subreddit events, in this case that's the awards, Q3 best fics you have read, link to give options for the subreddit AO3 masterlist categories and the fanfic book club for September.
Then next is the "getting started" tab which are posts on rules, flairs, introduction post (which needs an update) and a post explaining the activities that occur.
Then we have Awards 2026 which is a shortcut to award related stuff
Masterlist which is for the dance masterlist and full list of nominees for our 2024 and 2025 awards
Past winners which is exactly that. Our top 3 winners for each year and a post that includes everything (for 1st spot)
Lastly there's a karma tab which is just kinda cool but doesn't really mean anything, it's just for fun.
I also want to add a tab for interesting posts submitted by the subreddit members, it can be updated every month at the end of the month, maybe a mod picks one each and they get highlighted through this.
So, what do ye think? Does this look interesting? Does it seem easier to get to posts you may not even have known about til now?

I am absolutely open to other suggestions, as I want to make this community driven, I don't really know how many tabs you can do. But idk maybe they'll let us do a second one.
But yeah the idea is that this is pinned and , with exceptions. That's all you're going to see at the top of the subreddit when you click in.
It just kinda makes it streamlined in my opinion, but I'm sure there's things I'm missing. That's why I'm asking for takes before this goes live!
Also the photo option is a pretty good selling point in my eyes, you don't have to have it, but I would love sugggestions for those as well. Unfortunately Pip is a stand in.
The next fic for September is The Wrath of Brothers. The main premise of which is Jon Snow going south with Robb.
It sits on AO3 with 3.1k kudos, 897 public bookmarks and is completed in 162k words.

Welcome to another month of our reading club. I hope it makes a difference and helps you discover some more fics due to it.
For anyone unaware how it works. I list a number of works for people to read in the month and you are given the month to do so, at the end of September I then make another post where you can discuss your reading experience with the fics in question.
Most of these fics are sourced from the awards and each fic will get it's own post.
Within each post, I include the summary, the ships and list any subreddit awards the fic may have won.
For the moment, we are going to be running 5 fics a month
1 fic on Monday, along with this post, 2 on Tuesday and 2 on Wednesday.

To kick off the month, we have The Dragon’s War, which is a sequel to The Dragon's Heirs (Redux), both of which are set in an AU where all of Jaehaerys and Alysanne's children survive, where we get to see how the dance plays out in such a world.

Years and years ago, AO3 used to give people invites and they don't expire, so some may still have them.

I'm at the game of thrones studio, as I'm up North for a couple of days and I always wanted to give it a try.
I thought the OC lovers amongst you might enjoy this.
Now the house words only give you preset options, obviously to avoid slurs and stuff and also, I'm not very good at making sigils, as you can see from the bird being off center, but it's not particularly relevant in the grand scheme of things.
