Hello! I am looking to have a portrait commissioned of 2 children and 3 elderly adults who have passed on. I will need to provide multiple photos. Any medium really, but prefer realism or at least close to realism. Hoping for 8x10 size. Timeframe by Christmas 2026, so looking to hire soon! Budget sorta flexible but hoping to stay under $800.
I’d like to lead with, we are not engaged 😅 I am disabled and cannot legally marry without losing my benefits. We are really just playing around with the idea of having a short ceremony and small reception so my grandma can see her only granddaughter marry before she leaves us (she’s currently healthy thank god but she’s not getting any younger).
Ideally SW burbs for venue, willing to travel a tiny bit… ideally combo ceremony/reception venue. Likely not doing flowers, any decor will likely be DIY or stuff I already have.
Hoping for venue recs, catering recs, photo/video recs (I do have an amateur photographer friend, and her photos are beautiful)… what kind of pricing am I looking at? No more than 50 guests, including about 10 humans under 18. We don’t currently have a budget, I guess I’m just trying to get some ball parks so we can come up with a do-able budget 😅

I have an amazing 3.5 yo boy. I also suffer from chronic illness. I’ve been in pain my entire life, and after pregnancy, many of my conditions worsened. I write this from my bed while the sitter plays with my little guy outside, because I have been so dizzy I needed her to come an extra day so I could spend some time not upright.
I feel so guilty, so often, because I can’t do the things he wants to do, or the things he needs to do. I can’t chase him in the yard. I can’t swim with him in Grammy’s pool. I had to cut our trip to the children’s museum short the other day because there’s not enough places to sit and I was having a rougher than normal day…
I know doing what I can is what’s important. I know that the things we can do together, like reading and art and music and just talking are just as important… but I still feel like a bad mom. I still feel like I’m not doing enough. He deserves a mom who can rough house and be outside for more than 30 minutes in the summer.
Last round of pajama purchase (size 3T short sleeve/short PJs), I was able to find 3 sets of loose fitting PJs. Now my 3.5 year old vastly prefers them and I don’t really want to wash them a zillion times a week! Can anyone recommend where I can find more loose fit (shorts but also long sleeve/pant sets for winter) that aren’t that icky fleece fabric that pills up after the first wash? I’ve seen some bamboo sets on Amazon but would love to know of other stores. I believe the 3 we have now are all Carter’s.

We know Gru is 11 3/4 in Minions 2. “Cat Scratch Fever” by Ted Nugent also plays during the movie (a little lady is listening to it in a sound booth), which came out in 1977 so that’s where I’m personally placing Minions 2, time wise. So that would put Gru at being born around 1966?
Fast forward to DM4, Poppy has a BTS sticker on the back of her phone case. BTS was debuted in 2013, but their first number-one hit was in late 2016. So let’s just maybe, conservatively, guess that DM4 takes place in like 2016/2017. That would make Gru about 50 at the time of DM4. Which is very possible, but it’s wild to think about? My mom was 57 in 2016 lol
Also… what are minions? Are they immortal like jellyfish? Do they procreate? Are there different sexes? Do they reproduce asexually? I have so, so many questions.
Anyway, TLDR, Despicable Me is a wild universe and I desperately want to know what your children’s media Roman Empire is.
