Building habits but not seeing any progress.

I have been trying to loose weight for as long as I can remember. The only way I ever lost significant weight was when I starved myself but I'd gain it right back when I stopped. Also it made me feel weak, so I decided to lose weight properly instead of relying on fad diets

Last year I moved to college and gained about 7 kgs. My eating habits and sleeping schedule were all over the place and I genuinely couldnt care less about my health. Right now I am the heaviest I have ever weighed and need to loose about 12 kgs to achieve my dream physique.

This time I'm serious about it. I have been putting consistent efforts for the past 23 days. I walk 10k steps everyday. Sometimes it even stretches to 13-15k since I walk to the gym instead of taking a bus. On days where I'm mostly in my room, I'll go for walks after dinner and not stop till I hit my step goal.

I go to the gym 5 days a week with three days of weight training and two days of cardio.

Food has been the hardest battle. I went from ordering every other day to one cheat meal a week. I have been slowly reducing the amount of packaged food I eat. For example, the first week, I would only allow myself to eat chips/cookies etc on alternate days. Next week, it was once in every 4 days. Then once every 5 days and now I'm trying to eat clean the whole week.

I do slip up every now and then but I try and make up for it.

I have seen positive changes in myself but none to do with my appearance. Everyday I show up for myself, I feel a sense of pride. I also have started sleeping better and I feel more confident than I ever did. I have started talking to people without worrying about what they think of my appearance, started wearing clothes I'd be too shy to wear etc.

The only problem is, I haven't lost a single kilo.

What if I'm doing it wrong? Maybe 23 days is too soon to expect results. But I have been putting in my best efforts and it kills me a little everyday when I weigh myself and barely see progress. I'm scared all my efforts will not amount to anything. I try not to get demoralised but everyday feels harder. I don't mind putting it all the efforts that it takes for me to lose the weight but I just want it to be for something. I could really use some advice.

College wifi won't connect to my laptop

It was working till a few days ago when the power went out. When it came back, my laptop lost wifi connection even though my phone connected. It keeps showing "connected without internet". Since then I have tried everything.

I tried to troubleshoot the problem and it shows, "No DHCP found"

I disabled and enabled firewall.

I ran netsh winsock reset and netsh int ip reset, it didnt work. When I tried ipconfig /release this is what the command prompt shows:

"No operation can be performed on McAfee VPN while it has its media disconnected.

No operation can be performed on Local Area Connection* 1 while it has its media disconnected.

No operation can be performed on Local Area Connection* 2 while it has its media disconnected."

I tried to run device manager and all settings for IP etc are already set to automatic.

I have tried a few other things but none have worked so far.

My laptop is fairly new and its connecting to my mobile hotspot. I really don't know what to do. I'm not very good at this stuff and whatever I've done is by following youtube tutorials.

My dad took a day off to spend it with me

I'll leave for college tomorrow so my dad took a day off from work just to be home with me. I genuinely feel so lucky and a little bad as well. We fight a lot but I really love him. I haven't been an easy kid ever so I always wondered why my parents would still love me after all the hell I put them through. Its this bittersweet feeling of knowing their love will never run out. I hope I can make him proud someday.

SLCM wont show my section

I had applied for branch change but SLCM still shows my previous subjects. I'm not a CS student either. Is it a website glitch or something to do with the branch change.

Not making crochet gifts for anyone anymore

No particular event caused me to come to this decision really its just, every time I crochet a gift for someone, it takes effort. A lot of effort. Last summer I spent a whole month crocheting a parrot for my friend. It was a paint gathering the resources I couldn't find safety eyes for it so instead I hand crocheted them. He acknowledged it for 5 mins and never spoke of it again. When I went to visit him later, the parrot was nowhere to be seen. I'm pretty sure he just tossed it in a closet somewhere. Same thing with a glass holder I made for another friend who wears glasses. There are countless more examples.

I feel like I put way to much effort into handmade gifts for people who don't appreciate it. I really love the pieces I make, sometimes they're really hard to give away as well because of how much work I put into every small detail. I have no problem giving someone something I have made if they were to appreciate it as much as I do.

I know I'm not entitled to anyone's praise but I'm not crocheting for ungrateful people either so from now on I only crochet for myself. If someone wants me to make something for them, they should either pay or really show me they want it.

My dad showed me a card trick and I'm losing my mind over it

I am not into card tricks so for me even the simplest tricks seem like magic. He used my deck of cards so I know the cards weren't rigged. He gave me the cards and told me to divide them into two equal halves. He then told me to each half into two more. So essentially the deck of cards was divided into four, almost equal, smaller decks. He then told me to move the top most card of the first deck to the fourth and then the topmost card of the second to the third. He then asked me to move the bottom most card of the fourth deck to the first and third deck to the second. He asked me to flip the top most cards of each deck and all of them were kings!!!

I'm not the smartest when it comes to card tricks but this was fucking wild. I was the one who divided and moved the cards. He never even touched them. Someone please explain this or I wont be able to sleep tonight

I'm tired of pretending drinking is fun

Atp im convinced anyone who drinks doesnt really like it. They just do it to feel cool or mysterious. Alcohol tastes like rotten piss, is expensive as shit and gives you the worst headaches after. Went out drinking with my friends a few days ago and god what a fucking awful experience! I spent the whole night throwing up and the next morning was horrible. I couldnt look at bright lights or smell anything strong without gagging. Not to mention, I spent a shit ton on the drinks. I enjoyed myself for maybe an hour at best before I started throwing up. Seriously just gonna stick to cold drinks now.

Im losing my mind

Its been four days since I got back home and everyday feels like torture. Its my first summer break after college and god is it fucking boring. For the first time in my life I have nothing to do. My parents leave for work early in the morning and dont come home till late so I have no one to talk to.

I can meet up with my friends but thats like once or twice a week. I tried waking up early in the morning to go jogging and going to the gym in the evenings but it still didnt work. I cant sleep at night cause everyday is so unproductive.

I tried crocheting, painting, drawing etc but those are all relaxing hobbies but I have nothing to relax from to do these.

I feel like im losing my mind. I try to stay away from insta cause doom scrolling just feels fucking depressing. There are no internships nearby that I can sign up for either. Its been just four days and I'm genuinly losing my mind. I don't like watching movies cause they are wayy too long and boring. If I want to watch a movie, I just read the plot on wikepedia cause its much easier.

I need something that tires me mentally. Something that makes my brain hurt enough to want to do something relaxing. I feel like my whole life has lost balance and its just the start of my vacations.

If you have any suggestions please let me know

Anyone else applied for course change?

I applied in march, havent failed any exam and my GPA is good enough for my preferred course. I haven't heard back from the academic office though. How long does this usually take and when can I expect to get an update?

Would you rather achieve a lot in life but only have your achievements acknowledged only after you die or have all the love and fame in life but never accomplish anything.

Geography is not that bad

I used to hate it in school, but reading it now, it kinda makes sense. Theres a reason why climate is the way it is in different regions. Wind pattern, weather patterns, types of soil etc it all makes sense if you try to read it like a story and find reason in the phenomenon rather than memorising it.

so hungover

I went out drinking with my friends last night. Empty stomach and drank wayy to much. I threw up everywhere. My roommate gave me a bucket to throw up in and I kept throwing up in it. I dont remember much from last night. It feels like a dream but I do remember trying to run away from my friends. The care taker at my hostel found out and my roommate told her I had a stomach ache thats why I was throwing up but then I turned to her and apologised for drinking. Thankfuly she isnt calling my parents so im in no trouble. But I am in pain. A lot of it. Thought of eating makes me wanna throw up. Strong odours make me wanna puke. My head body and soul hurt. Dont go drinking ever. Worst thing u can do. The high is not worth it. Im never drinkingagain

Fuck Chemistry

I would rather die than have to study this fucking subject a day more than I have to. I'd rather have my eyes gouged out than have to look at this subject any more than I have to. Its not even testing your knowledge, just how much you can memorise. They don't teach you enough to make it interesting or for you to understand it. For every concept there are 10 fucking exceptions. You spend hours memorising a concept or a theory only to find out it has already been disproven by an even more complex concept or theory. Why the fuck do I need to learn something that has already been disproven. Why can't questions be based on understanding and application rather than rote fucking learning. I fucking hate this subject. Fuck chem.

I really don't fucking get it. If you're a cat person great! If you like dogs, thats good too! but why the fuck are yall hell bent on proving how the animal you prefer is better than the other? Like can yall just stfu for once. Why make it a competition? Just love animals for what they are and stay away from the ones you might not like.
