Experimenting with the tiny lights

I have been experimenting with the tiny lights that a lot of people with haunted dolls use. I was curious to know the methods people use to have their dolls turn the lights on and off. Also how long did it take before your doll's light worked.

What doll type is this?

I bought what I believe to be a 1930-1950 vintage doll. I’m new to collecting and so I haven’t yet branched into buying rare dolls, I am starting off small and still learning. Any info would be greatly appreciated 🥰
