We were blessed by the glove gods
The pinky finger broke off of one of their hand molds. Now its our prized posession.
Is this safe or legal?
The protests on willy street ran extension cords from my neighbors apartment to their tents. Im not sure if it was voluntary or not. Our electricity is individually metered. Im not sure if the exterior outlets will affect any specific person's bill or if it would get payed by our property management company.
What gifts would go well with smelling salts and a flashlight so bright it turns night into day?
My boyfriends birthday is coming up soon. I have a couple ideas of what to get him. On christmas he got really excited about a bright flashlight that was a prize in the dice game. Sadly we didnt win it so I want to get him one now. Also he thinks the reactions people have to smelling salts are hilarious. I dont think hes ever used them and I know he would love to see me and our friends try them. Just those two things dont feel like a complete present.
Are there more overstimulating gifts that would complete it? Or should I get something a little more normal to balance them out?
I really want his face to light up when he opens it. Last year, I got him a nice filet knife and a cleaver because he loves to cook. His immediate reaction wasnt as excited as Id hoped. Although he tells me they were great gifts all the time and uses them every time he cooks.
Is anyone else battling millions of tiny flies rn?
Every cubic inch of air outside is swarming with these. They look like a thick cloud. Everything is covered, bikes, plants, patio chairs, siding. I cant go outside without them crawling all over me and trying to fly in my eyes and up my nose. Ive been living on the east side for almost a year and this is the first time I've seen them this bad. Has anyone dealt with them before? Are there any natural repellants that work? Ive only had temporary success with blowing them away with a leaf blower.
Mediterranean Quinoa Bowl
A chicken quinoa bowl with chickpeas, cucumbers, tomatos, feta, pickled red onions, and a dill greek yogurt dressing.
Once everything is prepped and chilled, I mix the chicken, quinoa, chickpeas, cucumbers, and tomatos in a big bowl. Its good in the fridge for about 5 days. I keep the feta, pickled onions, and dressing separate.
Dressing
- 1 cup nonfat greek yogurt
- 1t olive oil
- 2-3 cloves of roasted garlic minced
- 1T dried or fresh dill
- 2T lemon juice
- salt to taste
Pickled onions
- 1 red onion sliced
- lemon or lime juice
- 1/4 t salt
- Put sliced onions in a jar/container, cover half way with lemon or lime juice, add salt, cover, and shake. Prep at least 2 hours before. Give them a little shake whenever you're in the fridge. They taste best after 24 hours.
Chicken
- I used this seasoning recipe as a dry rub on chicken thighs that I pounded flat. Then I seared them in a pan on low-med heat until they temped out over 165°F. You can use chicken breasts too but you may want to adapt the recipe into a marinade and bake for jucier chicken.
Quinoa
- 1 cup dry quinoa
- 2 cups water
- 1t chicken bouillon
- Rinse the quinoa in a fine mesh strainer and add to a pot with water and bouillon. Bring to a simmer, cover, and simmer on low for 10-15 min.
