skin improvement suggestions

my first ever attempt at drawing my own minecraft skin from a year ago. something about this guy just doesn't feel right. I can't quite put my finger on it, might be inconsistent color pallete or messy shading. any tips on how to make it look better?

weird red sand rendering bug (1.12.2)

hey this is my first post in this community.

for some reason, the texture of the red sand is replaced with it's regular white variant when it falls, it basically uses the wrong texture. i'm not sure what might be the cause of it, i don't use optifine, but i use nothirium. i tried to temporarily remove nothirium from my mods folder but it didn't help. how can i fix this issue? can someone hepl me. i've never encountered something like this before.

(sorry for bad english)

EDIT: seems like my texture packs have nothing to do with it as well.

during my experiments, I discovered that concrete powder also exhibits this issue, with colored variations being replaced by white ones. odd... i suppose that the game, for some reason, fails to retain the blockstate property value and resorts to the default variation.

anvils lose their facing mid-air as well. it DEFINITELY has something to do with blockstates. something messes them up. i have yet to figure out what exactly.

EDIT2: FOUND THE CAUSE! NotEnoughIDs was the reason for all this... unfortunately i can't launch my world without this mod. I've tested all possible versions of NEID, with and without mods, and the bug persists regardless of the conditions.

EDIT3: Installed REID instead. seems to work pretty well... My world is saved. yay.

problem kind of solved... i'll just leave this post here in case someone encounters something similar.

Conclusion: If your beloved Minecraft world is rather old and has experienced significant modpack changes over the years, and it inevitably gets corrupted unless you use certain limit extending mods, as in my case, and NEID triggers some weird bugs like this, consider trying REID instead.
