Rikke Tofsland-Karlsen was 35 years old and living in Skien, Norway when she vanished on July 27, 2025. She was last seen that day at the Rema 1000 grocery store at Moflata in Skien. She didn't take any camping gear despite her habit of solo tent trips, and she left behind no indication she planned to be away for more than a routine errand.

According to Rikke's father, he spoke with her on the phone just days before she disappeared and she seemed completely normal. Rikke’s energy was cheerful and warm as she always was. He describes her as someone who loves to jump around and hug him. She had lived in the Grenland area for 11 years and worked as a waitress at several restaurants. The dog shown in the picture was re-homed before her disappearance.

Rikke was not reported missing until October 2025. Her family initially tried calling and visiting her flat in Sandtakvegen, but got no response, and her mailbox went unemptied. Because she had a history of occasionally wanting time to herself (sometimes going on tent trips for several days alone), they gave it space. When this stretched far beyond her usual pattern, they filed a report.

Police have searched the forest toward Geiteryggen near her home with dogs and drones, and have conducted witness interviews. In December 2025, she was placed on a European missing persons alert.

In January 2026, a man with a connection to Rikke appeared in court. He was charged with allegedly stabbing her in the foot about four weeks before she vanished, as well as violating a 24-hour restraining order she had against him. He was acquitted of both charges related to Rikke because she could not be interviewed to give her side. He was convicted of an unrelated false imprisonment charge against another man. Police Inspector Odd Skei Kostveit states the man is not necessarily a suspect, but has been interviewed as a witness and is considered a person of interest.

At 162cm, Rikke had a slim build, dark blonde curly hair, and green eyes. She had two distinct tattoos: a runic "Munnin" with a black crow on her left forearm, and a skull on her right forearm.

Halfdan Rosing Jensen was 59 years old when he vanished from Maniitsoq, a town on Greenland's west coast, on June 16, 2025. He was last seen at his home at 5:30 AM that morning, when he left for his boat. A family member raised the alarm after he failed to return.

The initial search involved relatives and volunteers along the coast. Greenland Police and the Arctic Command later expanded the effort into a full-scale search and rescue operation, which began on the evening of June 16. During the search, it was discovered that his boat was also missing from the harbor. His boat was a white Draco 2000 with a gray windshield and a Mercury 150 HP outboard motor.

Despite the search efforts, no trace of Halfdan or his boat has been found.

Halfdan was born on September 16, 1965, which would make him 60 years old as of June 2026 (based on my findings via a birthday wish on Facebook). Also based on his Facebook page, he spoke Greenlandic, Danish, and English, and enjoyed going out on his boat and playing guitar.

His family continues to ask the public for help on social media. Residents of Maniitsoq have established a Facebook group called "Halfdan's missing person case" or “Halfdan’s lookout page” (Greenlandic: Halfdan-ip Ujaarineqarnerani Qupperneq) to share information and updates regarding his disappearance and search efforts.

Holger Røddik Nielsen was 17 years old when he vanished from Århus, Denmark on October 26, 2017. He left his home that evening without his mobile phone, passport, or bank cards. His social media accounts have not been active since.

He was last confirmed seen on October 30, 2017 at the Youth Center in Copenhagen's northwest quarter. Several individuals there had reported they believed he may have been planning to go to Sweden, but neither Danish nor Swedish police have found anything that may lead to him.

In July 2018, police received tips from individuals who believed they had seen Holger in Copenhagen, but it could never be verified if it was truly Holger or just mistaken identity. On December 13, 2025, a Danish court issued a ruling presuming him to be legally dead, with his date of death listed as December 31, 2018—just over a year after his last confirmed signs of life. In Denmark, this is more of a civil matter, and if Holger is later found alive this can be overturned, and all legal proceedings will be reversed.

Standing at approximately 173 to 178 cm (5'8" to 5'10"), Holger had an average to athletic build and blond hair. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing light brown corduroy trousers and a light brown tartan jacket or coat. He also had a sleeping bag with him.

Holger was a highschool student from Århus. Those who knew him described him as very friendly and happy to chat with anyone. Based on my findings via his personal Facebook page, he spoke Danish and English.

In April 2026, his case was added to the Doe Network at my suggestion.

⚠️ MENTION OF SUICIDE.

Áslaug Helga B. Traustadóttir was 59 years old when she vanished from Tálknafjörður, a small village in the Westfjords of Iceland, on December 8, 2024. She left her home that Sunday and has not been seen since.
Her car was soon found abandoned on the road just outside the village, not far from the high-water mark.

Police launched an extensive search involving around 100 people at its peak. After five days with no results, the large-scale search was called off on December 13, though efforts continued on a smaller scale. Authorities have stated that nothing indicates her disappearance was criminal in nature. Her death is believed to most likely be either an accident or suicide.

Áslaug was a mother, a stepmother, and a grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her (step)children and grandchildren, and also liked to garden and cook.

She spoke Icelandic and English (based on my findings on her personal Facebook page). She had ADHD and wore glasses.

Ulla Bødker (née Nielsen) was 48 years old when she vanished from Varde, Denmark (near Esbjerg) in 1997. Ulla was a mother of 2 daughters, and was described as a woman who enjoyed the finer things, and loved to look her best. On the evening of her disappearance, she told her neighbour she had rented a car and was driving to Varde to borrow some money. She was last seen alive around 7PM that night.

Ulla had borrowed 800DKK (~1,373DKK in 2026, or €184) from a male acquaintance in Varde, a butcher, and was reportedly seen leaving his shop. Her rental car, a white Fiat Punto, was found parked and abandoned in Varde the next day without the keys inside.

She was not reported missing until three weeks later, on December 19, 1997, when police forced entry into her flat in Esbjerg. Inside, they found her two Pekingese dogs, who had died of starvation and dehydration. Those who knew Ulla said she would never have willingly left her dogs to suffer, they meant too much to her.

Ulla was doing poorly financially at the time she went missing. During the investigation, it came to light that Ulla was working as an escort. Police have considered the possibility she may have been the victim of a crime, but no body has ever been found and she has never been declared legally dead. Over 200 people were interviewed, but no arrests were made.

Standing at 162 cm (just under 5'4"), Ulla had a thin build. On the night she disappeared, she was wearing a fur coat, black high-heeled patent leather shoes, and white gold jewelry set with diamonds.

The case remains open and is still listed internationally by Interpol. In 2021, a TV documentary ("Som sunket i jorden") revisited the mystery. As of 2026, Ulla would be 76 years old.

The closest translation of “sunket i jorden” would be “vanished into thin air”.

Gunnar Hope was 19 years old and in highschool when he vanished from his family’s home on the island of Askøy, Norway (near Bergen) on September 8, 1999. He left between 6PM and 6:30PM. A woman would later report she believed she had seen him at a bus stop around 6:30PM. He didn’t bring his bank cards, wallet, or passport, so he likely did not plan to be away from home for long. He only brought a backpack, which was packed for the next day.

According to Gunnar’s parents, he had no significant problems in his life at the time he disappeared, and he was a calm and respectful individual. They feel it was out of character for him to go somewhere without giving them a heads-up first.

Investigators would later receive a tip from someone who believed they had seen Gunnar in Oslo, but it could never be confirmed if this was actually Gunnar, or just mistaken identity.

At 192cm (6’3½”), Gunnar was quite tall, with a thin build, blue eyes, short, dark blond hair, and spoke the Bergen dialect of Norwegian (and probably English, but I couldn’t confirm this as fact).

The first photo is more recent but undated, the second photo is one I found in old Norwegian newspapers and was taken around 1997.

Gunnar’s parents, Mr and Mrs Hope, do not believe their son is still alive.
