Sunday's Feast

Had guests round and they all brought proteins.

Spicy South African sausage, chicken chipolatas, burgers, a range of chicken, pork and beef kebabs, lamb kofte, halloumi, home made guac, apple slaw and potato salad.

A few too many ciders for a Sunday...

Speaking Mandarin in Taiwan

Hello,

I'm holidaying for 2 weeks in Taiwan this month. Some time ago now I lived and taught English in China and picked up a lot of the language. Is it rude or insensitive to start conversations with locals and taxi drivers/shop keepers etc in Mandarin? Would I be better off speaking English?

From my understanding the Taiwanese are reducated across 3 languages?

Taxing my car

Hi,

My MOT ran out so my tax direct debit stopped. The MOT is now done but my car is untaxed. I tried to do it online but the tax reminder letter I have doesn't have a 16 digit reference number. I also can't find my log book.

Will the direct debit renew now that the MOT is complete? This was done on Tuesday or maybe Wednesday.

TIA

Before anyone mentions it I have a work van so I wasn't driving my car around illegally at all.
