Just finished BrBa. Gonna watch the final 'black and white' episodes of BCS now!
Just before dinner, I finished Breaking Bad. I now rewatched the black and white opening scenes of seasons 1-5 from BCS and after I finish this post, I'm going to watch the final 4 episodes of BCS.
After having watched the entire universe evolve, I can't wait to find out of we get to know the fates of some of the (surviving) major characters in these final episodes or of there are any other plot twists waiting for me.
My experience watching BCS first made me miss some of the characters I got to know in this series when watching Breaking Bad. I found the final episodes of Breaking Bad to be quite intense so I really want to know how the series culminates!
Edit: just finished the final episode. First thought: wow. It's so beautifully done how both series are tied together here. I hadn't thought about Howard and Chuck much, having just watched BrBa. I had thought about Kim Wexler and it's so great seeing her reappear now.
Bringing own pillow to hotel
Is it weird bringing one's own pillow to a hotel? I wouldn't want it 'taken away' by staff accidentally
I just finished watching S06E09 - without having watched BrBa
Last week I asked if it'd be possible or a good idea at all to watch BCS without having seen BrBa. I was warned doing that would spoil things. I'm still not sure yet what potentially was spoiled but here's my ideas!
I only know that BrBa is about a science/chemistry teacher (is he called mister White? If not, let's assume he is for the purposes of my post) who gets cancer and starts producing and selling drugs to pay for his treatment. He does this with some younger person called Jesse or something like that and he may have been one of his former students.
When I started BCS, I thought the man in the black and white opening scenes was Mr White! I soon found out the black and white scenes take place after the events of BrBa so at first I assumed Mr White survived his cancer. I still don't know if he did, btw.
Either in the opening scene of season 2 or season 3, where the man in the black and white scene first speaks, I realised it's in fact Jimmy/Saul. I think I assumed Better Call Saul was a show about a goofy attorney working for drug dealers. I had not thought Saul's career would take so many twists and turns. Or the show, for that matter. I liked Mike Erhmantraut's energy in the first episodes but could not expect he'd be this central figure in all that's happening between the Salamancas and Mr Fring and the others. I realise these are just some very shallow observations and I read that many people rewatch BCS multiple times so maybe I'll do that too after I watch BrBa, but for now my plan is to start watching BrBa later tonight and then come back for the final 4 black and white episodes of BCS. I'll watch El Camino after that?
I just watched the first three episodes
I haven't seen Breaking Bad either. I didn't like the first episode as much, but the second was good. I liked Mijo/Tuco's suggestions for fair punishment for the two skateboarding punks. Episode 3 appears to provide some more backstories. The parking attendant looks ominous...
[NGD] Fender Pro junior IV tweed
Just picked up this Fender Pro Jr tonight. Had been searching for an amp to give me a nice clean tone for a while and this sounds really nice with my tele!
Werktaken
I can't, for the life of me, play lead
I've been playing guitar for over 15 years, mostly acoustic and rhythm/chords based. I know all the pentatonic scales and how to play major scales all over the neck, but I can't play a 'solo' and make it sound musical (that's a description I copied from youtuber Nicky V).
What's a tip you have for me to feel better about my playing?
