I've read several posts on this sub about dealer activity dominating transactions on BAT, but this is the first time I saw it myself in real time in an auction that I was following.
I was curious, so I commented just after the auction ended to poke the buyer to see if they'd bite. Their reply was just an attempt to defuse the question. So I searched Google with their BAT user name and their dealership site came up.
Found the car on the new dealer's website for $80K (it closed on BAT at $73,343). Honestly not that much of a markup once you factor in the 5% BAT fee etc.
I'm not really criticizing the dealer to dealer activity even though it isn't in the spirit of BAT's earlier days, but other than that I'd like to hear about this community's feelings on the different ways that this is bad for individual bidder's...
