My Comprehensive Experience with SafeShip Moving Services
If you don’t want to read this I’ll include the highlights here:
I booked a reservation with safeship 11 months in advance and after confirming the appointment 5 days before the pick up they canceled the move in the last hour of the two day time window force refunded me and hung up. This is after I was passed between customer service agents for 7 hours. Absolutely do not trust this company with your money or your move there are so many better companies out there.
To start with the relevant details, my partner and I decided to move from the second largest city in Montana to just outside of Orlando Florida. Both places have large population centers and developed logistics chains.
In July 2025 I ordered a floating reservation with a Safeship agent who suggested the main benefit of doing so was to secure the rate even through their busiest season (the spring and summer). Under his instruction I did so which turned out to be massively beneficial with the increase in gas prices following the Iran conflict.
We eventually settled on June 28-29 as our move out date, over the next 11 months I received multiple phone calls and emails requiring me to sign new BOLs (remember safeship is a broker not a carrier) which I did promptly with each one.
Fast forwarding to a week before our big move I received a call from Alexander Popke, a QA Agent, responsible for getting the final count for our move. He informed me the appointment was booked, the requirements for all boxes and items at pick up and the procedure. He informed me the carrier would provide a 2-4 hour time window 24-48 hours before the pick up. Remember my reservation was 2 days in total so a smaller time window is very beneficial when dealing with the matters of moving.
Moving to the 28th, my partner and I are in the throughs of saying goodbyes to our friends and loved ones while moving all our boxes to the staging area in our house for safeship to pick them up. We still haven’t heard anything from safeship which I find strange because they promised a 24-48 hour pre call. We get all our stuff finalized by the end of the 28th and take our last nights sleep in our old home on the floor to ensure we are ready for the company the following morning.
The following morning at 7 AM on the 29th, the second day of our window I call safeship directly since they have not provided a pre call, asking when the truck will arrive. After remaining on hold for 45 minutes and being passed between 3 agents, they told me there was an issue with the carrier and they will have to rebook another for later in the day. At this point my partner and I are stressed but confident in the agents that assured us they will assign another carrier.
Over the next 12 hours I spent over 7 hours on hold or on the phone with multiple safeship agents being passed between departments and different agents. Over the course of this experience I was hung up on 5 times and placed on 30+ minute holds multiple times. At this point I’m both frustrated and desperate because my lease expires on the following day and I’ve been depending on this company to move my stuff for a year. They were the fundamental part of the plan for our move.
After being assured they’d find a different truck by both Dylan and Dexter, the two agents that didn’t hang up on me they transferred me up to their manager.
At 6PM on the 29th, 23 hours before my lease expires, Joshua, the manager at the safeship call center told me he had force initiated a refund of my deposit I had placed 11 MONTHS AGO. Without my consent or permission, he told us they simply couldn’t fulfill the job and now it was up to me to figure it out. All of my stuff staged in my living room to their specifications ready for a pick up I booked a year and advance and they told me the day of, a moved that was confirmed just a week before couldn’t happen. They offered me no alternative, no assistance in finding another way to move my stuff simply force refunded my deposit said good luck and hung up.
So I have this to say to safeship moving company. I depended on you for my move, I fulfilled every requirement you had, signed every bill of lating, answered all relevant phone calls related to the move.
I was on call with one of your agents for the final count the Wednesday before our move where he assured me everything was okay for the pick up.
On the day of the move I called in for help with my move and it took me 45 minutes to even reach someone and I was then passed by and forth between agents with a 30 minute hold each time just for you to assure me you would get the delivery done today. Just to finally pass me to your manager at 6pm on the second day of my move window and tell me you weren’t be able to fulfill the job. I never raised my voice I never disrespected a single person throughout this entire process and you dealt a ruining blow to me and my family.
We depended on you for a year and you wasted 7 hours of my life on a day where I had less than 24 hours to be out of my lease. You led me on until the you eventually canceled the move with no discussion or recourse and then hung up on me in the last hour of the 48 hour time window we set up 11 months prior and confirmed five days before.
To Alex, Dylan, Dexter and Joshua I hope you can fucking sleep at night knowing you’re responsible for causing me, my family and many like us massive stress during a very stressful part of our lives. Stress we trusted you to deal with.
I missed my last dinner with my mother and father because I was on the phone with your company trying to figure this out. I didn’t get to say goodbye to half my friends because I had to deal with the aftermath of this disaster.
Don’t let there agents tell you they are a company of integrity, they are not here to help you. The second the business relationship became inconvenient they canceled. They didn’t even try to fix it or help in anyway.

Safeship canceled a moving reservation I set a year prior on the last day of the pick up window after wasting 7 hours of my time on the phone with customer service agents.
This company is not in it for you, they are only in it for the money, not a single agent told me the truth or tried to help me and at the end of the day they canceled. Sincerely, fuck you safeship and fuck you Joshua for having the absolute lack of empathy to force refund me then say there’s nothing you can do. You’re an absolutely despicable coward, and a complete peice of shit.
