Mobo died. Was my psu the cause?

My motherboard died after 7 years. The VGA light was on, and after the PC repair technician did the usual testing, we concluded that the motherboard was faulty. My PC works fine After installing a replacement , but 7 years seems pretty short for a motherboards lifespan. Could my PSU have damaged it, and is there a way to test the PSU?

There were no symptoms beforehand other than the sudden appearance of the VGA light, and that the PC would not start.

Is the heatsink bad?

Is the heatsink that came with my motherboard weaker than newer/more expensive heatsinks?

My ssd is getting a little too hot.

Motherboard:
B450 GAMING PRO CARBON AC (MS-7B85)

The Pc Shop guy installed a new additional SSD into my 6 year old PC. If I understood it right my Motherboard has one weak and one strong SSD slot so he put my old ssd into the weak slot and the new one into the strong slot. Then he copied the contents of the old ssd onto the new one so Windows runs on the fast SSD + Fast Slot. At the shop everything worked after a couple of restarts and windows ran on the new ssd but when i got home windows was on the old sdd again. How could that happen and does it matter that much/will i notice a difference while gaming?
Here are some infos about my pc:
Windows 11
AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Eight-Core Processor, 3700
MHz B450 GAMING PRO CARBON AC (MS-7B85)
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super
16 GB RAM
OLD 250 GB SSD + 2 TB HDD
NEW 1TB SSD
