A word of warning for my fellow vr boxers

Got my Q3 about 14 months ago now primarily as a fitness tool to help me recover from my ligament injury in my back. Well today my headset messed up, was doing my usual and after about 25 mins, the view started to go crazy, my controllers didn't respond and my headset didn't respond to power button press. After a little bit of troubleshooting, I got stuck on the boot loop.

Now onto the purpose of this thread.. after some digging around, I am fairly certain this is due to sweating and it getting into the sensors. There are a fair few people with identical issues which all resulted from playing exercise heavy games. So yeah, if you want to keep your headset working, be careful of the sweat, kicking myself now for not getting the headstrap with an integrated fan.

We eating good this Halloween

I've been following this game since the first trailer but after seeing this footage, looked it up and it's made in UE5. This game is going to be something special in VR thanks to the praydog mod.

Can sleeping tablets negatively effect recovery?

So I've been using whoop for around a year now. I got it once I turned 39 and realised that now was probably going to be the best time to start treating my body better and try and enter my 40s with a reasonably fit body. At the time I was morbidly obese.. who needs a six pack when you can have a whole keg has long been a favourite joke of mine so gives you an idea where I started.

My main use really has been as a motivational tool by tracking my strain and using that to push myself as I'm naturally very lazy. Looking at my metrics though, it's clear I have made significant progress overall. I have a long way to go but overall, I'll be hitting my 40s with a solid foundation and most importantly, an unquenchable thirst for exercise.

One metric that has alluded me though and one I haven't focused as much attention to as I should have has been my recovery. At best it's usually in the low 80s. I have put a lot of this down to having a kitten that likes to wake me up in the middle of the night and get me up early if I dare to have a lay in.

I am starting to think though that maybe my sleeping tablets could be having an adverse effect on my recovery. I take amitriptyline to help me sleep. I have ADHD so good sleep has never been something I was used to. I've been taking it for about five years now and it has made a big difference in how well I sleep.

Last week I screwed up on reordering more and have had to spend the last week reducing my dosage to hold me over until I can get some more. Usually take 50mg a night but have spent the last week on just 25mg. Recovery was ass for the first five days but I could also put down to the heatwave over here. However in the last few days I have been consistently in the green, 87% Friday, 82% Saturday and 92% for Sunday which is the highest my recovery has ever been. Now the kicker, I had ran out completely of sleeping tablets last night and while I expectantly woke up a few more times than I usually would, to get such a high recovery while completely off the amitriptyline is making me question whether I should even be on it anymore.

Anybody else on here who have taken or take sleeping tablets and notice an effect on their sleep and recovery? While not expecting medical professional advice here, I'm curious if those with a better understanding reckon if it's worth getting in touch with my GP and discuss coming off it for good? To me it just makes logical sense that something that helps me sleep would be better for my recovery but whoop seems to say otherwise. Maybe I should take the metrics with a grain of salt but at the same time, almost feels like I've weaned myself off the tablets and would hate to go back to normal dosage tomorrow if it would benefit me not to. Probably also worth mentioned it was prescribed as purely as a sleeping aid, I know it's an antidepressant but I don't suffer from depression and with two cats, already have the best antidepressant available.

Steam Summer Sale Recommendations for Super Ultrawide

So finally got my super ultrawide monitor just over a week ago. MSI had a promotion going on and now sitting on £40 in my steam wallet. Any recommendations from the summer sale that supports and looks great on a super ultrawide? Recently upgraded my comp so can run everything fine.

Will my monitor likely arrive tomorrow?

So I ordered a large 49" super ultrawide monitor on Sunday evening, didn't think much of it but was curious that it was shipped via Amazon's own courier service. Got delayed at the MK depot by an extra day which frustratingly shown as "now arriving today" until 5pm where it finally shown as delayed.

Now today, it was out for delivery along with two smaller items I ordered which both shown as out for delivery at the same time. Then randomly at about 4pm, my monitor was now showing as "package arrived at final delivery destination" again. An hour later, my smaller items arrived fine. I was planning to ask the driver about the monitor but he was already driving away by the time I got to the door but what surprised me was that he was in a small unmarked van.. considering the size of the monitor, I would have thought it would be a two man delivery job and doubt it could even fit in the small van along with many other packages.

Spoke to support and they assured me it would be delivered tomorrow but to the best of my knowledge, they can't directly contact the depot where my item is so it's not really reassuring. Anybody experience anything similar happen? I'm now finishing up my second day working from home and having to call my manager asking for another, thankfully due to the weather, it won't be a problem but I don't relish the thought of spending another day waiting for something that isn't going to turn up and it seems like a pretty big oversight for the depot to assign such a large item to a tiny van with only the driver.
