So I've captured a dragon...
As the title says.
I'm in the winter of year 3, 100ish dwarves, built into the side of a lovely little mountain and going deep underground.
More or less got my basic fort up and running smoothly, and just dealing with fleshing out my guild halls and temples.
Dragon turns up - never seen one before - FUN - it rampages through my outside farm, all my livestock is "melted", those poor dwarves who were outside all got melted, most of my nice forrest was on fire, think I lost about 20 dwarves within the first minute or so.
Anyway, I didn't realise this, I thought dragons would be too big, but turns out they can get through doors. It came into my fort. I thought that was it, and I would lose everything, but, luckily, the entrance had 3 cage traps behind the door, and the dragon got caught in the first one.
So now I have a dragon in a cage in my stock pile and I'm like.... how can I profit from this?
I could sell it for about 10,000 gold, but that seems like a wasted opportunity.
I did think digging a nice hole for it would be good, and I can keep it underground, with some sort of elaborate feeding hatch where I can throw goblins in. But something tells me if I do this I'm just going to have a dragon lose in my fort.
Are dragons tamable?
Could I leash it outside somewhere to act as a sort of guard dragon, even if it's not friendly to my dwarves, at least it would kill anyone trying to siege me?
I'm open to any and all ideas as well as any cautionary tales you may have of foolish dragon attempts.
