I think Vergil forgot his human side in the PGR Universe after the collab...

I just got done reading 42-2 and when Larsen started reciting poetry while sitting there so timid with his book in hand all I could think of was "V, is that you??"

Is it really too much to ask for at least a limited-run comic where Terry is stuck in the past and is actively interacting and bonding with the rest of the Bat-Family?? 😭

I know he's currently stuck in the past in the Justice League Unlimited comic (or did that storyline end?) but he hasn't interacted at all with any of the Bat-Family members.

I'm talking about an actual series where he's stuck in present time Gotham and approaches Bruce for help, and it leads to him actually living in the manor, interacting with Bruce, Alfred, Tim, Damian, and everyone else. Going out on patrol with Steph and Cassandra, butting heads with Jason, vibing with Dick, looking at Barbara and recognizing signs of the police commissioner he knows in his time, etc. Just something casual, character-driven.

At least if Wayne Family Adventures would do that, just a few issues of Terry showing up and hanging out with the rest of the family. Come on, DC!! 😭🙏

Conceptually speaking, the Dark Suit is a reference to the Cloth Replica Black Suit. They're both costumes that Felicia made for Peter because she thought he'd look better in black than in his traditional red and blue. Even if it's not a replica of the Symbiote, it's the same idea on paper.

IF we get a DMC1 remake, it'd be cool if they gave Dante his DMC3 DT for Force Edge.

I feel like the DMC3 DT works well with Dante's DMC1 outfit. Like, aesthetically they look very similar, and he has the red legs in DT just like the red pants of his DMC1 outfit. Like seriously, I feel like the DMC3 DT fits DMC1 Dante better than it does DMC3 Dante. Maybe just give it rolled up sleeves on both arms instead of just one so it matches Dante's coat sleeves (give it the arms of the Nevan DT maybe?)

I know that Force Edge didn't have a DT in DMC1, but it would be cool if they included one in the DMC1 remake, and made it be the DMC3 DT. It'd be a nice little bonus and continuity coherence, as DMC1 happens some time after DMC3 and Dante was still inexperienced with his Devil Trigger which is why it keeps changing based on what Devil Arm he's using, so it'd just be a nice little addition that doesn't take away anything from the game.

Imagine you get into the DMC1 remake, you go through the motions, get Alastor and unlock DT like last time (assuming they'd keep it that way). But then you switch to Force Edge and find that you still have a DT gauge. You trigger, and it's the DMC3 design. How cool would that be?

Alternatively imagine if this time you get Alastor later, hell what if we get an actual boss fight against Alastor instead of just randomly finding his sword, and the boss itself is your tutorial for Devil Trigger, so you unlock DT for that boss, but obviously you're using Force Edge at this time since you gotta beat Alastor and take his sword, and when you trigger you get the DMC3 Devil Trigger!

You can keep the pre-existing Alastor and Ifrit DT's (though please for the love of got make their designs coherent. I cannot for the life of me understand wtf is going on in those DT designs, I can't make out anything concrete. And add some red in there, please) but I always hated how in the original DMC1 Force Edge basically becomes obsolete after Mission 2, because once you get Alastor there's literally no reason to switch back to Force Edge since you get no DT and it's the weakest sword in the game.

This way you would incentivize the player to not give up on Force Edge altogether and still switch to it even if just for the sake of using the DMC3 Devil Trigger. Otherwise it's just a wasted sword that's only relevant for 2 missions, and it's a shame cause it's such a cool sword design.

-------

I got the idea to make this post after seeing u/Mr-Five-the-number's post : Is there a reason as to why nevan's dt resembles dmc1 dante? or is it just an artistic choice. They're right that Nevan's DT calls back to the DMC1 outfit (and even gives you the Alastor Air Raid attack with shooting thunderbolts and whatnot), which is why I even mentioned earlier that you could take the Rebellion DT and give it the Nevan DT arms for the sleeves.

Now whether or not he even CAN DT with Force Edge is another matter. Cause yeah, Force Edge is a sealed sword, technically it doesn't offer any real power. Vergil didn't get any amps from Force Edge, and he could DT only because he was dual-wielding FE with Yamato. So by that logic, FE alone probably wouldn't give Dante a DT.

But I would assume that the Trigger power comes from within Dante, not necessarily from the sword, and as DMC1 happens like 10 years post DMC3, during which time it's implied that Dante completely swapped Rebellion out for Force Edge, I would assume that Dante had formed a significant enough connection with Force Edge so he can DT with it. I mean you use the same sword for a decade and keep fighting Demons with it, like come on, there has to be something there to make it make sense, no?? And it's not like Rebellion gave Dante any real amps. Rebellion is just a standard sword, its power is just to unlock Dante's potential, but in terms of combat Rebellion doesn't seem to have any substantial power like Yamato and Sparda, it's just a sword to swing around and channel your own power through it.

-------

Anyway, what do you guys think about this? Would you like to see the DMC3 DT make a comeback and be included in the DMC1 Remake? Or should they just stick to what we had originally, forget about Force Edge after 2 missions and just roll with Alastor and Ifrit?

[Discussion] So like... What do we actually call Gray's powered up state? Does it have an official name? Does it have a fan name?

Ghost Lady's my favorite as far as the original webcomic goes. She can be so silly, her design is absolutely peak, she's like the best character in the whole comic, I love her! (Screenshots taken from the official webcomic by TrixTheAlien)

An idea I had : What if Devil Sword Sparda returned to its Force Edge form after being awakened, and only entered its true form when the user Devil Triggers.

Devil Sword Sparda is cool and all, but ngl I miss the sleekness of Force Edge. I think it'd have been interesting if Sparda was a Devil Arm that could Devil Trigger with the user. So even after Dante uses the perfect amulet to awaken Force Edge into its true Sparda form, the sword would actually revert into its Force Edge form, and only reveal its true form when the user Devil Triggers.

Now I say "user" as a broad term, but it'd primarily just be Dante, Vergil if he got his hands on it again, or maybe even Nero. The sword would only respond to Sparda's blood, so only his heirs can unleash its true potential. Maybe Trish could also do it as the sword might mistake her for Eva or just consider her worthy enough. But this would prevent someone like Sanctus from using the sword (even though it already didn't grant him any real power as it did not deem him "worthy")

I just feel like it'd be interesting since I don't think we have any Devil Arms that actually Devil Trigger along with their users. And with this, you could carry it around more discreetly, as having Force Edge on your back is more discreet than having Sparda in its full form on your back, like that thing is huge and stands out like a sore thumb lmao. Even going back to Sparda himself, when he's in his human form, you'd think he'd wanna be more discreet and so he'd modify his Devil Arm to "restrict" itself into Force Edge when Sparda isn't actively using his full power.

So in a way it's kind of like how Devil Sword Dante is "closed" when Dante is in base, but "opens up" when he's in Devil Trigger and Sin Devil Trigger. Of course DSD Dante can also be "opened" in base if Dante focuses energy into it, so maybe we can apply the same logic to Sparda, Dante could turn Force Edge into Sparda without Devil Triggering, but needs to Devil Trigger to bring out the sword's full potential.

Devil May Cry 5 : Classic Edition

I hate that we didn't get alternate costumes in this game. But thank Sparda for mods! Speaking of which...

Mod List :

MHW Alastor by DarkLeafNinja

MHW Force Edge by Aleziinah

Sparda for DSD and ME Aura by Leox1509

Vergil :

Unfortunately the mod I used for Vergil's outfit color scheme has been deleted. :( It was a mod by DaigronCDM called "Vergil costume recolor". I can still see it in my downloads history, but it's been deleted.

A good alternative I found though is Classic EX Vergil by KainPrimus.

DMC4 Vergil face and hair by noShigu

MHW Force Edge for Vergil by yurisaika

DMC4 Beowulf for Vergil by thezippotm

DMC4 Vergil DT for Vergil DLC by Mr_Sniffles / IamMrSniffles

[discussion] Given Gray's origins being tied to Deliora and his clear distain and fear of Demons in the beginning, I feel like it would've made sense if Gray was a Devil Slayer from the very beginning of the series.

I just feel like the trauma he was left with after Deliora and losing Ur because of his own emotional immaturity and weakness could have motivated him to learn Magic specifically designed for slaying Demons, in addition to Ur's Magic. Especially since I feel like deep down he was always worried that Deliora might somehow break out of Iced Shell or someone would try to unleash him (Which ended up happening) so it was like Gray wanted to be prepared in case Deliora returns. The reveal that Gray's a Devil Slayer could've happened when he, Natsu and Erza fought Lullaby, cause I always felt it was very anti-climactic how easily they put Lullaby down, so it would've been cooler if they actually struggled during the fight until Erza or Natsu told Gray to stop fucking around and use his true power, which is when he'd reveal that on top of Ice-Make Magic he is also an Ice Devil Slayer.

If I'm not mistaken, Mashima had originally planned for Gray to be an Ice Dragon Slayer so he can fully be Natsu's thematic opposite, but he chose to not do that, and I guess in the end he decided to revive that idea but do Devil Slayer instead (which tbh fits Gray way more)

Idk I just think it would've made sense. And thus we could have potentially seen Gray get more Devil Slayer power ups throughout the series if he had the power from the beginning, like maybe he'd awaken the dark markings "Demonization" in the Galuna Island Arc in an emotional response during his fight with Lyon, and then later on in the series he might fully develop the Demonization into a full fledged Demon Form. Maybe by the time we get to the final arc where he goes into a frenzy and fights E.N.D. Natsu he could've potentially had a complete Devil form, like the Devil Trigger forms from Devil May Cry, where his body just goes full Demon, and he actually briefly becomes a monster until Erza stops that fight.

As for HOW he would've learned it, I guess that's a bit more tricky cause it's not like he'd approach a Demon and demand to learn the Magic from him, though it could be that Devil Slayer Magic can also be learned from Ancient Tomes like God Slayer Magic too, or maybe via Lacrima implant like Second Gen Dragon Slayers. OR maybe a flashback arc of Gray forming an unlikely alliance with a "good Demon" who went against his programming from Zeref and said Demon maybe bestowed him with this power. Though I guess that'd feel a little weird given Gray's distain and fear of Demons. I guess it depends on how you'd execute that idk. Maybe it's just simpler to say he somehow came across an ancient book that he learned Devil Slayer Magic from.

Anyway, idk, it's just a random thought, but what do you think? Would it have made sense or benefitted Gray more if he was an Ice Devil Slayer from the beginning and we had like a flashback mini-arc or something to explain where he got it from later on in the series?
