From short hair to long hair?! 👀 (ZombiSeed Character Intro Part 2)

Hi everyone! 🍋 Welcome back to our character design evolution series for our Zombie Apocalypse School Fantasy game, ZombiSeed!

Today, we’re showing off two more of our main cast members—including one who probably went through the most drastic transformation in the entire game.

🐰 Ren (The Cheeky but Unhateable Student)

"You were actually a bit useful this time. Weird teacher."

Dev Trivia: Ren was originally designed to have a very calm and quiet vibe. But as development went on, the character kind of took on a life of his own! We ended up adding a lot of bouncy, cheeky, and slightly tsundere traits to his personality, making him feel much more energetic and boyish in the final version.

🦁 Owen (The Gentle Advisor & Reliable Fellow Teacher)

"I'll be helping you out for now, so please don't worry too much."

(But... is that really all there is to him? 👀)

Dev Trivia: Next to Seoyun, Owen went through the wildest transformation! To be completely honest, our Character Designer channeled ALL their personal tastes into him (ahem, long-haired men enthusiasts, make some noise! 🗣️). Because of that, elements from his initial draft—like the short hair, facial scars, and eyebrow slits—were completely scrapped. We think he was reborn as an incredibly unique and charming character!

👉 Swipe to see their before-and-after! (Also included a beautiful but tragic 'Flower Zombie' CG at the end 🥀)

So, are you Team Short Hair or Team Long Hair for Owen? Let us know in the comments! 🧟‍♀️✨

We are currently polishing up our game for the upcoming Kickstarter, and we'll have more exciting news to share soon. Stay tuned!

[The Dawn of a Flower] My first indie VN about a princess disguised as a prince to survive.

Hi everyone! I’m the solo developer behind the indie studio Lemon Velvet. Today, I want to share the story of my very first game, The Dawn of a Flower.

This project originally started as a small hobby while I was working a full-time job. A high school friend of mine suggested we make a visual novel together, and that journey eventually led me to be scouted by a game company. However, craving more creative freedom to tell my own stories, I decided to take the leap and start my own independent studio.

The Dawn of a Flower is a fusion historical romance set in a rich world where magic and ancient lore coexist. You follow the journey of a princess who has lived her entire life hidden away in a remote palace. After the sudden and mysterious death of her mother, she faces a grim fate: being sent away as a political hostage to a foreign land.

Refusing to be a pawn, she makes a dangerous choice—she disguises herself as a prince. To survive the treacherous political landscape and uncover the truth behind her mother's demise, she must navigate a web of secrets and lies.

Along the way, she becomes entangled with three very different men: a hot-headed tsundere prince, a sly and playful fox-like informant, and a sweet and caring general. Each of them holds their own hidden motives. The game strongly focuses on how your choices shape the narrative. Depending on the decisions you make, these men can become your greatest allies, dangerous enemies, or something much more intimate, leading to various branching endings.

(P.S. Honest note: As a small indie studio, we are well aware that our current English localization needs improvement. We are currently pouring our hearts into our next title, ZombiSeed, but we promise to completely overhaul and update the translation for The Dawn of a Flower this winter once ZombiSeed's development wraps up! Thank you so much for your patience and understanding.)

If you enjoy historical romance with a twist of mystery, survival, and fantasy, the game is currently 30% off for the Steam Summer Sale!

From Sketch to Final: Character Intro for our dark fantasy game 'ZombiSeed' (Part 1)

Hi everyone! 🍋 We are LemonVelvet, a cozy 4-person indie studio developing ZombiSeed—a zombie apocalypse school fantasy that blends Visual Novel storytelling with Turn-Based Card Battles. (Fun fact: I'm the scenario writer, and our programmer is actually my underclassman from high school! lol)

(Quick note: While ZombiSeed isn't a traditional 1:1 romance otome, it is a Joseimuke/Otome-adjacent game heavily focused on deep bonds, survival, angst, and beautiful characters! We thought this community would appreciate the aesthetic and lore. 💖)

🌸 Not your typical gory zombie game:

In our world, the enemies are beautiful but eerie "Flower Zombies." They are infected by a plant-based virus that causes unknown flowers to bloom all over their bodies. When defeated, instead of blood and gore, they burst and scatter into beautiful flower petals! 🥀

Today, I wanted to introduce 2 out of our 6 main characters and show you guys how much their art has changed from the initial rough sketches to the final polished art!

🦊 Seoyun (The Sly & Mysterious Fox)

"You need to stay alert to survive, right? I want to keep seeing you for a long time, Teacher."

Dev Trivia: Seoyun changed the most from his initial draft! We kept adding "a spoonful of playfulness" and "fox-like charm" to his personality during development. To fit his new sly vibe, we completely reimagined his look—giving him striking blue hair, sharper eye shapes, and adding that signature beauty mark under his eye. The chic look in the original sketch was great, but his current fox-like charm is irresistible!

🐶 Daham (The Sweet Golden Retriever)

"Everyone gets lost their first time here. If it's okay with you, may I help?"

Dev Trivia: Daham was the very first reliable supporter character we planned. Initially, he had fluffy, full bangs for that gentle, "large puppy" vibe. But during a styling test, our character designer playfully parted his bangs to expose his forehead. It highlighted his warm, affectionate gaze so perfectly that it immediately became his official look!

👉 Swipe to see their before-and-after! (I also included a heartbreaking CG of the 'Flower Zombie' lore at the end 🥀)

Which character is more your type? The reliable golden retriever or the mysterious sly fox? Let us know! 🧟‍♀️✨

[Ken ga Kimi] Can we take a moment to appreciate Sakyo? 😭💖

There are so many top-tier routes in this game, but Sakyo is just chef's kiss.

The whole "beautiful avenger" trope is everything to me. He looks so elegant and fragile—almost like a flower—but we all know he's an absolute badass when things get serious (the ultimate gap-moe!).

And can we talk about the VOICE ACTING?! The way his tone drops and completely shifts when he gets unhinged or dead-serious... literal perfection.

Who completely stole your heart in Ken ga Kimi? I’d love to hear your favor

[TMGS 1 & 3] Found my old DS and TMGS cartridges! 🍀🌸

Looking at these games makes me so nostalgic. Fun fact: my ultimate favorite in the 1st game wasn't the main poster boy, but the secret character, Jin Tendo! He completely stole my heart.

Anyone else love him?
