I escaped an emotionally manipulative and abusive relationship, but now my friend is trapped in it. What should I do?

I was in a relationship with this cis guy (I'll call him J) for about a month, from September to October. He was an awful boyfriend and friend. He constantly put me in situations where I felt responsible for his mental health. He would call me "mommy" despite knowing I'm a trans man, and he used the fact that he was dating a trans guy as a guilt tactic because he lives in a very religious household. When I suggested he just tell his family I was a girl to avoid conflict, he did, but then turned around and made me feel guilty for "making him lie," even though dating me was his choice.

At the time I was struggling with self-harm. He would imply he was hurting himself too, I'd panic and comfort him, and he'd literally smile while I was worrying about him. Looking back, it makes me feel sick.

He also constantly claimed his family abused him, even though from everything I saw they were just worried about him. He would nonstop talk about his alleged suicide attempts to make people feel bad for him, but the second anyone showed genuine concern, he'd shut down and act annoyed. Even after he dumped me, I kept checking in on him because I was worried. He'd snap at me, then get mad if I told him how that made me feel. There's honestly so much more that happened, but that's the short version.

Now there's another person involved. I'll call him D. D and I are very close friends, and he's known J for over five years. D and J are both incoming high school seniors, while I graduated this past May. J often says D "saved him from killing himself." The problem is that every time J gets into a relationship, he completely ignores D until he needs emotional support again.

I ended both my relationship and friendship with J on my last day of high school in May by giving him a long letter with screenshots explaining why I was done. Since then, I haven't spoken to him and have him blocked everywhere.

J started dating another girl (A) and, while we were still in contact, seemed to use her to try to make me jealous. That's not really the point, though. According to D, J is obsessed with talking about me. He complains about me and my letter constantly, even though I haven't contacted him in months. He even tells D he doesn't like that we're friends anymore, and when D refuses to cut me off, J starts talking about how he's "having breakdowns every day" to make D feel guilty.

The rest of what J talks about is himself- how miserable he is, how amazing he is, how terrible he is. Everything revolves around him.

D texted me tonight saying he can't take it anymore. J only reaches out when he needs emotional support, wants something, or wants to complain. D has PTSD from an abusive past, but J doesn't seem to care at all. He uses D as a free therapist. Whenever D has tried to set boundaries, J guilt-trips him until he backs down.

Apparently A is also constantly defending J's behavior. One example was her saying it was understandable that J drove over 100 mph with his 14-year-old brother in the car because he was "having a rough time." She also says D distancing himself is what's making J so miserable. D really wants to leave J, but he can't bring himself to because they're in the same friend group, J knows a lot about him, and he's afraid cutting him off could make the situation worse.

I feel awful because I don't have to deal with J anymore, but now it feels like J has just redirected all of that manipulation toward D. He's always treated D badly, but it seems even worse now.

I also feel bad for A. She hates me because of whatever version of the story J told her, so I doubt she'd believe me if I warned her anyway.

Part of me wants to expose old screenshots and messages showing how manipulative and awful J was, but I also worry it'd just come across as petty. I already graduated, while J and D still have another year of high school together, and I don't even see J anymore. I don't want to get dragged back into this, but I'm so angry.

I don't think I've ever hated someone this much. It's one thing that he manipulated me, but seeing him do the same thing to one of my closest friends makes me furious. I know it isn't actually my fault that D is dealing with this, but I still feel guilty.

Is there anything I can realistically do to help D or handle this situation without making everything worse?
