Rubber guts day!!
Replaced all these Joes rubber bands today. They were well overdue for a Dr's visit, and now they know better, and knowing is half the battle!

These 'no pencil' exercises I have been doing are notably more difficult when the character I choose is showing a lot of skin. This is the first sketch I had to start over, because I simply couldn't "massage in" my inked "happy accident" this time, there was no way to hide it with cloth or any other body part crossing over.
Even on the second attempt, there's too many scratchy lines for my liking, but I do enjoy the bulky, brutal Frank Miller-esque quality that this drawing ended up with.
Not my best, but not my worst.
Hope you like it!
Been a huge Hellboy fan for years, collected the comics and as much merch as I can afford, but many statues and figures have been out of my reach. This new McFarlane one stays true to Mike's look, and fits my wallet!! So excited to have this in my collection!!!

Subject was by request this time, Sebastian from the Black Butler Manga. I used some Rembrandt lighting in this sketch. I'm trying to integrate it into my drawings as I learn more.
This sketch was also finished in about an hour, which is very rare for me.

No pencil, just winging it to challenge myself these days.
