Ambulatory users who have needed overnight hospital stays, opinions requested. (Serious)
Would it be better to
A. Bring my powerchair for most independence (but it's huge so also more in the way, and likely to be damaged by an inexperienced person trying to move it)
B. Bring my manual chair because it's smaller and more easily moved out of their way (but also more easily damaged, "accidentally" mistaken for a hospital chair even though it's neon green, or more easily misplaced), or -
C. To leave my personal chairs at home and make use of hospital chairs to avoid these issues, considering how long repairs and replacements take?
I'm having robotic laproscopic abdominal surgery. I'm expecting at least two overnight stays, maybe more if there are complications. I can walk like a dozen feet unassisted, at least pre-op. I'm not sure about post op.
I've never had to be hospitalized with a chair before and I'm torn on this decision.
