The Empty Man

Okay so I’ve watched this movie probably 8 or 9 times now. I never understood why people were so critical of it and now I can finally admit after this recent viewing it is kind of cheesy.

But!! I think the cheese only comes from not totally buying into the idea. This is an atmospheric movie. If you cannot immerse yourself into it and give it your full attention you will miss a lot of context as well as the themes that are presented.

It is a good movie but if you’re looking for something with ironclad reasoning and that makes total sense then look elsewhere.

The Empty Man will take you somewhere else for the duration of its runtime then put you right back in your seat afterwards.

For what it’s worth, The Empty Man is an engaging piece that has something to say regardless of the absurdities it takes to get there.

Veya from Balmora is silly

After the events of Balmora and depending on your choice you can find Veya at the Vivec City boat landing getting sent off by Naryu. She is pleading not to go and that in her words she “can keep a low profile.”

This made me laugh because >!Veya got caught outside the cave hideout hanging around, and then later slaughters all of the guards of her house including her father. Now she wants to tell me she can keep a low profile?!<Get on the fucking boat Veya!!!
