Roofing or siding nailer for furring / hardie

Hey all I had a question done some trim questions and thanks for the answers and now I started to install hardie clap over 3/4” furring on CI. I usually always use my siding gun , but the hardie TB/ instructions say to use 1 1/4” roofing gun for this type of install. I really don’t like how inaccurate the roofing gun is.

Has anyone done this with an siding gun? Did I miss read the instructions for hardie over furring? I have 1 3/4” siding nails

Shock wear after an glide ring issue

So about a month ago, my shock kept on going deep into travel and compressing all the way and not rebounding, and after a couple stops at the bike shop, they did a can service and found out that the glide ring was a little offset, and it was allowing air to escape during the travel once in a while or when it warmed up

So I went for a ride up in North Conway, New Hampshire to give it a good test after they fixed it and it’s all good, but I noticed there was wear on the shock piston after my ride .I mean, I can feel them with my nail, but they don’t seem deeper at all. I don’t know if these were here before and then the stanchion got twisted when he reinstalled it and now I can see him because they would’ve been on the bottom side. Do I need to do anything or just see if it gets worse

Rear shock acting weird

I’m experiencing an issue with my rear shock.

The shock keeps compressing the suspension and not rebounding, bringing it to a fully compressed state. However, when I let it decompress, it goes all the way up and feels fine. But sometimes, when I go through rough sections or heavy root sections, it eats everything up. I have rebound open because I’m around 230.

I thought I balanced it correctly and had the correct rebound because my last ride didn’t do this. But all of a sudden, on this ride, I did it again. After my ride, I let all the air out and cycled it every 50 psi to balance the negative air chamber. I’ll test it again, but is there anything else I should be looking for? I had the shock serviced in May, and it only does this sometimes, which is why I can’t figure it out.

Bike is ripmo af with topaz shock set at 245psi and rebound fully counter clockwise

Bike/ wheels/ e-bike 🤷

For Context them. 43 years old, been riding mountain bikes for about 15 years. I’ve had the ripmo AF for about five years, and I’m kind of wondering if I should upgrade it more as I only upgrade it as things break, like derailers and stuff like that.

Talking to a local bike shop, he was talking about maybe doing new wheels as that’s one of the bigger upgrades for a mountain bike. It is to do carbon hoops and a good hub, and it’s also an upgrade that you can transition to other bikes if you buy them.

I’ve also been considering maybe just upgrading to a regular Ripmo V3 or even a Pivot. I really like DW Link suspension and having a lighter bike would maybe help me with climbing a little bit. I’m a little overweight, but that’s besides the point. Sometimes I want new things to increase my hobby. Have you even considered maybe even going down suspension so it’s a lighter build entirely maybe like a 140 front and a 130 back and make it more trail specific than all mountain I do go downhill on Lyft assist but in reality, I go on greens and blues. I don’t go on any big jumps or anything.

I’ve also considered an E-bike, but I don’t think I’m there yet. I like the exercise, but I also see the benefits of the E-bike. You just go further, not so much less exercise, but I’ve never actually ridden one, so I don’t really know too much about it. And if I did go E-bike, I would just go submit a smaller mid-drive just to kinda put in more miles on trails than anything else.

Anyone else in this predicament on what’s the next step on aupgrading?

Furring attachment screws

What are my options for attaching my furring strips to my structure? My current assembly from the interior is

Drywall
smart vapor ( membrane)
 rockwool in a 2 x 4 wall ,
1/2” sheeting
vp wrb (3m 3015vp)
 1 1/2” comfort board
3/4” pt furring
hardie.

I really only want to penetrate the framing by 1 1/2”  do I due to the fact, I only have 2 x 4 walls and I don’t wanna hit any of the wiring so I was going to use fasten master 4 1/2 inch lag screws but they’re very expensive and I was wondering if there was an alternative.

Laminating PVC trim

I’m about to start a residing project, and will be adding ci and furring strips then cladding with hardie LP .

I have a crap ton of 3/4 pvc from past jobs but I need 5/4 for the correct revel on the hardie LP. Has anyone ever laminated 1/4” strips to the back? Were you successfully? Or was it too much a pain in the ass to even deal with it.
