Has anyone here had experience asking the jeweler to send a video of the diamond once it arrives, as well as a video of the finished engagement ring, before they ship it to you?
I’d love to see the diamond in person/on the ring and make sure everything looks good before it’s shipped. Is this a common request, and do most jewelers accommodate it?

I recently bought a ring and requested a price match. However, I was told that I couldn’t combine the price match with any other promotions or discounts from the website, such as the free necklace they’re currently giving away.
I’ve seen people on Reddit say that they received an additional discount after a price match. Is this normal, or does it depend on who you’re dealing with?
I know Rare Carat price matches diamonds, but I’m not sure if they also price match engagement rings. They don’t have as many ring options, and the one i like is more expensive than an identical one I found elsewhere.
I’d like to order both the engagement ring and the diamond from Rare Carat at the same time. Has anyone had experience getting a price match on both? Or how to kindly ask for a discount?

Oval lab-grown diamond
1.5–2.0 ct
Color: D
Clarity: IF–FL
Super Ideal cut
Excellent polish
Excellent symmetry
Depth: 58–63%
Table: 54–63%
L/W ratio: 1.40–1.50
Pavilion: around 43%
Does this seem like a good combination, or would you change anything? My main priority is getting the most sparkle and avoiding a noticeable bow-tie.
I also have a few questions:
Is there a significant difference between IGI and GIA certification for lab-grown diamonds? Is GIA worth paying extra for, or is IGI perfectly fine?
Has anyone purchased from Brilliance diamonds? That’s currently where I’m planning to order from. How was your experience with the diamond quality, customer service, and overall process?
Would you recommend another retailer instead, such as Rare Carat, Ritani, Calavera or Loose Grown Diamond, or someone else?
Is it reasonable to ask the jeweler for photos and/or videos of the actual diamond and the completed ring before it ships? On several websites, the images look like stock rather than the actual stone, so I’d like to see the real diamond I’m buying before it’s assembled and shipped.

Hi! I hope you can help me: I 28M have been with my partner 36F for 3 years now. We’ve been in a long-distance relationship for a year due to my job; we see each other about every 2 months, and everything was going well. I’d already planned the marriage proposal and everything, but something happened: it turns out that she and I had an “agreement” not to overdo it with alcohol (she’d gotten too drunk in front of my parents on a previous occasion, and we decided that wouldn’t happen again). Of course, the problem had improved a lot—she was in control when she drank, and it wasn’t a regular thing; it was just an occasional occurrence, however, a few days ago she went to a bar and drank too much. I knew about it because it’s very obvious when that happens—she can’t even type properly. Then, when she got home, she fell over and went to sleep. The next day, I sent her a message because I was already upset that she hadn’t honored that agreement, and on top of that, she hadn’t taken our pet out to pee for 15 hours (starting the time she left for the bar until she finally woke up the next day). I let her know this and told her that if she wanted to continue in this relationship, she had to put a stop to what had happened and set a limit, to which she replied that she wasn’t so drunk that she didn’t know who she was and that our pet still seemed calm when it went to relieve itself in the morning.
Today, we’ve gone three days without speaking after taking a break/ending the relationship and at least for me, I still can't quite come to terms with it. We really connected deeply in our relationship, and I wonder if this is too drastic a decision or what I should do in this situation.

Les cuento yo (28M) llevo ya 3 años con mi pareja (36F) actualmente tenemos una relación a distancia hace ya un año por motivos de mi trabajo, nos vemos cada 2 meses aproximadamente y todo marchaba bien, ya tenía planeado la propuesta de matrimonio y todo pero algo ocurrió: sucede que ella y yo teníamos un “acuerdo” de no pasarse de copas (ella en alguna ocasión anterior se embriagó de mas frente a mis padres y decidimos que eso no volviera a pasar) y claro, la situación disminuyó bastante, se controlaba al tomar y no era algo de rutina, era algo ocasional de vez en cuando, sin embargo, hace unos días fue a un bar y bebió de mas, yo estuve al tanto porque es muy evidente cuando eso pasa pues ni siquiera puede escribir bien, después al llegar a casa se cayó y se fue a dormir. Al día siguiente le envíe un mensaje porque yo ya estaba molesto por el hecho de no haber respetado ese acuerdo y como motivo adicional, no llevó a nuestra mascota a hacer sus necesidades durante 15 horas (contando desde que se fue al lugar y finalmente despertar al siguiente día). Le hice saber esto y que si quería seguir en esta relación debía poner un alto y un limite a lo sucedido, a lo que ella respondió que no estaba tan borracha como para no saber quien era y que nuestra mascota aún se mostraba tranquila por ir a hacer sus necesidades en la mañana.
Hoy tenemos dos días sin hablar después de habernos dado un tiempo/terminar la relación pero ambos estamos bloqueados y al menos yo aún no lo asimilo, realmente conectamos mucho en la relación y me pregunto si es una decisión muy drástica o que debería hacer en esta situación.
