What do you think?

What do you think?

I love my ring and am obsessed with the color and style but feel like it looks a little weird on my hand? Maybe I’m being too critical of my hands though lol. Or maybe I need some stacking rings above/below?

3 Carat Ashoka: What do you think?

Hello LabCreatedDiamond Squad!

I would love some opinions on this Ashoka-cut lab diamond before I have it set.

It’s a 3.05 ct E VVS1 (10.43 × 6.49 mm).

I’m planning to put it in a low-profile platinum Georgian-style bezel with fine claw prongs.

Does the stone look like a good Ashoka to you?

Any issues with the light performance, extinction, or faceting that you’d be concerned about? Or does it look like a solid choice?

Thank you in advance!!

[First Time Buyer] Is Carat Diamonds (India) legit? Nervous about buying a Lab-Grown ring online to the EU

Hi everyone,

I am planning to propose soon and I am looking to buy a 1-carat Lab-Grown diamond ring. I found a vendor called Carat Diamonds based in Surat, India (they have a website and a big Etsy shop).

To be honest, I am incredibly nervous. This is a huge purchase for me, I am buying it online without seeing it, and it's coming from overseas. I have a few big doubts and I really need some honest advice:

1. Is Carat Diamonds reliable? Has anyone bought an engagement ring from them recently? Did the ring actually arrive safely, and was the quality as good as it looks in photos? Their customer service seems nice, but I'm scared of getting scammed or receiving cheap costume jewelry.

2. The "Lab-Grown" anxiety Since this is a lab-grown diamond, I am terrified of making a bad impression. Does it look like a "real" diamond in person? Will it look fake or cheap compared to a natural mined diamond, or is it completely indistinguishable to the naked eye?

3. Shipping to Europe / Italy Are there any European users here who ordered from them? How was the shipping experience? Their customer service told me that customs/VAT fees are usually around $50-70. Did you have to pay massive extra taxes when the courier delivered the package?

I really want this proposal to be perfect, but I'm feeling a bit lost. Any reassurance or reviews would mean the world to me. Thank you so much!

Are lab diamonds too perfect?

Sometimes I look at my labbies compared to my authentics and think they are SO sparkly that would someone mistake them for CZs? I know I shouldn't care, but one of the things I used to notice about CZ vs auth diamonds is that CZs are too white, which was a giveaway that they weren't diamond. Now I have a number of lab diamonds, and the inclusions are so very low that they almost look like CZs. So I suppose there are two things I'm curious if others have considered: 1) are lab diamonds too clear/perfect so that they don't look authentic and 2) should we care whether they look "authentic" or not? I hope this is a conversation not a criticism. Just thought I'd see what the community thought.

Diamond size change after certification

Hi! I need a bit of guidance. I purchased a diamond from Romy at LGG. The dimensions listen in the video and the photo did not match. The video showed 7.29 x 8.21 x 4.63 and the photo showed 7.29 x 7.20 x 4.63. I verified the dimensions and purchased with the assumption they were 7.29 x 8.21 x 4.63.

I did also pay additional to get the diamond IGI certified.

The certification has been completed and the dimensions are 7.29 x 7.23 x 4.63, not the 7.29 x 8.21 x 4.63 that I purchased.

Is this common?

I was working on a CAD with Romy and it needs to be revised to update the dimensions. I was going to post it for review anyway so I am posting here as well.

The stone I purchased is the 3rd stone at this post:

Please let me know your opinions of the situation and the CAD.

Thank you!

I need confirmation I'm making the right choice 😊

I'm looking into this lab diamond for a ring I'm having created. I can't find a photo or video. It's a 2.01ct emerald cut, D color VVS2. Can someone tell me from the attached information if the metrics are acceptable please? Video is in comments 😊

the passive-aggressive comments about my engagement ring have already started lol

So my partner and I finally started looking at rings recently, and since we're saving up for a house, we’re being super intentional about budget. I was showing my mom and sister some of the lab grown diamond engagement rings I found online—specifically some gorgeous halo styles that look super classic but don't cost a fortune. Instead of being excited, my sister immediately goes, "Oh, that's cute, but don't you want something real? People are going to think he's cheaping out." My mom just nodded along like it was some great piece of advice. I was honestly so annoyed. Since when did a symbol of our commitment turn into a status symbol for other people to judge? I love the delicate, detailed look of a halo, and it's literally chemically identical to a mined stone. I don't need a massive, overpriced rock just to prove my partner loves me or has a certain bank account. Why do people feel so entitled to comment on this stuff?

Show me your blues!

I want a ring that reminds me of my favorite beach/place but don't really know the best place to start. I've ordered lots of things from many of the vendors and some have been good, others just ok. This project needs to be great. I'm looking for a center pear with (probably) pear sidestones. Would love to see your blue/green diamonds especially in a ring or pear! I'm thinking I'll go around 3-4ct max.

I'd prefer to work with a vendor that can source the stone and do a fabulous setting vs sourcing the stone and getting it set elsewhere. So your recommendations for vendors that have great colored stones is appreciated! So show me your blues!

2 carat lab-diamond butterfly ring

My wife loves butterflies, so I started searching for a butterfly-inspired lab diamond setting/ring.

  1. Is this a snag/lost stone waiting to happen?

  2. What do you think about the setting mixing the lab-diamond? Does it look too much like costume jewelry?

Does this work or should I go all lab-diamonds?

Image is A.I. modified to show what it could look like with Alexandrite.

I want this to be something that she wears daily. The wedding band is just a white gold band. The image says 4.5 US but the current band and size will be 4.

Video of Diamond

Does Tianyu normally send you a video of the diamond before you purchase it if you are getting a custom setting and diamond? What are their normal steps in the whole process. They have mostly been communicating with me on WhatsApp. Thank you

Why are people so obsessed with mined diamonds? The pushback I'm getting from family for wanting a lab-grown ring is wild.

My partner and I recently started shopping for engagement rings, and honestly, the process has been such an eye-opener. Since we are planning our wedding and trying to stay smart with our budget, we decided from day one that lab-grown was the only logical route for us. I’d much rather put that extra money toward our future.

The problems started when I mentioned this to my family. I was showing my aunt and cousin some gorgeous settings I was playing around with using a custom ring builder online, since it lets me see exactly how different lab stones fit into various styles and how the pricing works. Instead of being happy, my cousin immediately made a comment like, "But don't you want a real investment? A lab diamond has zero resale value, he should get you something that lasts." My aunt just chimed in agreeing that "traditional is always better."

I was so frustrated! First of all, who buys an engagement ring thinking about its "resale value"?! It's a symbol of our commitment, not a crypto stock. Second, it is real, chemically, physically, optically identical. I can get a stunning, high-quality stone without the insane traditional markup, but apparently, to some people, if you didn't overpay at a luxury mall boutique, it "doesn't count."

Has anyone else dealt with this weird elitism from older family members when you told them you were going the lab-grown route? How did you shut it down without losing your mind?
