Her name is Virevolte and she’s a ring, but as you can see, she stands on her own four feet as a little sculpture. I was thinking of getting her one of those miniature skateboards. 🐉🛹

(He’s an indoor cat, but Tato loves going out on the back steps with me when I take the dogs outside.)

Can I get some brutally honest opinions about this stone? It’s not my ideal ratio, but the way it sparkles at a tilt is living in my head rent-free. It’s an 8.02ct F VS1. Thanks in advance!

I posted recently about sourcing an emerald cut, but truly I’d prefer a “criss” (hybrid radiant) cut. I took these during my dog’s potty breaks yesterday: the first two at golden hour and the latter three around twilight (hoa hoa hoa). I honestly wasn’t sure if I was going to keep this ring after unboxing it in broad daylight, but seeing how striking it looked in these other lighting conditions convinced me to hang onto it. ☺️

P.S. Please ignore my crusty hand, I’m still healing from a very gnarly poison ivy rash. 🥴

Hey all! I’m tentatively shopping for a large emerald cut. I know the images on these listings don’t tell the whole story, but as a starting point, I’m wondering what’s considered more ideal: the lighter stones in the top row or the darker contrast of the bottom row? I know I want a hall of mirrors without windowing. The lighter stones look more visually appealing at a glance like this, but I also don’t want a “dead” stone. I guess the real question is whether the light vs dark previews like this really mean anything at all, or if I should pay more attention to the specs. I’m shopping with Aurélinne specifically because I know it’s a risk regardless and I want to be able to return the stone if I don’t love it in person. Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer me!
