Treeing and guarding MC

I’ve been working and camping in the mountains in Colorado. I take my MC Julio with me and I must say it’s not by mistake they are called Mountain Curs. He is so tuned in, he lets me know when anyone is around or any animal is around. He shows me which trees the turkeys are roosting in. He is constantly treeing squirrels and he has treed bears twice. Both times he was running the mama bear off and in the process he treed a cub. On one of the first nights up here I had not pitched a tent yet and was sleeping in my work van when At 2:00 am a bear opened the sliding door and Julio met the bear face to face with his howling bear bark. He commenced to chasing the bear all over the mountain side far a half an hour. He’s dug bathtub shaped nests all around the perimeter and prefers to sleep outside so he can guard the campsite. He has a different bark for cats and bears and squirrels and turkeys. His nose and the speed he track is unlike any other dog breed I’ve seen hunting. He’s about 8 years old now and shows very little signs of slowing down. His vertical jump is not as it used to be but he can still easily do over ten miles of running in the morning and his guard duties has him running in 15-30 minute high speed chases at night. I’m getting older an I hope to have to energy to have one more mc in my lifetime.

Stihl 046 fuel screws

I just finished a complete rebuild of my 046 and my carb kit didn’t come with the fuel screw O rings. The ones in mine are petrified and leaking by. They are extremely small and thick and don’t have a spring or washer but the low speed has what looks like leather behind where there might have been an o rings. Any suggestions on how to get the replacement parts?

Best Metal Detector for saving bandsaw blades

I’m looking for advice on which hand held metal detector I should buy to find metal embedded in trees so I can avoid trashing bandsaw blades. I’m not sure if a wand type would work good enough or if one like the beach combers use would be better.

What’s your opinions on which carb kits are best and are the Stihl kits worth the extra money? I’m finishing a 046 build that had broken a piston skirt and then sat for several years. I’d prefer to keep the OEM carb but wasn’t sure which kit is best
