How did u get into chess and what improved your game the most

I’m genuinely curious about everyone’s chess journey
How did you first get into chess?
And what was the single biggest thing that helped you improve? A book ,youtube , puzzles coaching,analyzing your games,or just playing a lot cuz i’ve been stuck around 1400elo for about 9 months and it’s feels I’ve completely plateaued

10-minutes Rapid keeps putting me i swiss

Every time i try to play a normal 10-minute rapid game,it’s starts as chess960 instead of regular chess i didn’t change any settings
Has anyone else experienced this ? How do i switch it back?
