Built a website using an AAC

I am a student that’s interested in climate science and communication. I am also disabled.

I n the spirit of an extra credit project for class I have created a public platform to replace the loss of Federal Climate and Weather data; specifically focused to the PNW. I have integrated WeaveChat with my Claude Code instance to help capitulate my research into something that others can actually use and rely on.

I have since hit 1,000 daily viewers, and have built enough customization to update my website daily using WeaveChat.

I currently have a few folks assisting and am always looking for more. I have a team of two hydrologist PhD’s overseeing the Water page and am currently looking for more experts and contributors for a variety of areas; especially anyone with familiarity with cloud; we’ve been able to hit ~91% accuracy with the firewatch model trained on my laptop.

Need some help

I’ve created a few public development sites to use what personal funding I can to give back to the community’s I live in.

I developed PNW FireMap as an extra credit project for school. It has since evolved into something that 1,000 daily visitors have relied on for daily updates on the climate affecting them within the PNW.

I currently have a team of two hydrologist PhD’s overseeing the Water page and am currently looking for more experts and contributors for a variety of areas.

(Yes there are many website issues; I just got someone to help with this)
- We’ll have the main Firewatch model and data available by the end of the week on GitHub.
- My hope is to onboard some folks that are familiar with cloud. The current model I’ve built is trained using my 2020 MacBook Pro. However, we’re still hitting accuracy of ~91% for large fire estimation despite this.

The Deniers Handbook for Climate Change

This is a handbook compiled by myself with a few guest contributions from climate experts to help refute the common conversations around climate change and science.

It is hoped to be expanded upon and any commentary is invited to enhance it. If you’re a student, professional or local impacted by the study you are also invited to contribute to the project.

My Family Hall in Norway

My family owns a small property in Norway that formerly was a farm. We’ve since turned it into a drinking hall.

Every piece of the hall was felled from the forest around it, sculpted and fit into place.

The large building in the back is the full hall, the smaller building in the front is the outside kitchen and bread ovens.

It has taken more than a decade to complete. My favorite piece is the gate to the main lawn.

Wood burns for Family Drinking Hall in Ålesund Norway

My family lives in a small village in Norway and have opened a venue that they have made entirely from hand.

Each board for the main hall has been hand worked and detailed with traditional styles.

School Project turned into something people use.

I live in the PNW and built a website as part of project for school - it has since turned into something that folks in the PNW actually rely on with over 5,000 weekly visitors at this point.

SWE for PNW

My prime focus is to provide the same data the government, weatherman, and scientists would use to evaluate the world around us in a more digestible format.

My second commitment is to provide data reliability. I've noticed over the last few months that many of the API's and regular deliverables from entity's in the PNW have gone offline. My hope was to provide a space, and platform for folks to access the same caliber of information, without gap, through a novel, self-healing source; if a federal API no longer provides data that many people rely on - I then either find a new source, or calculate the same data based on similar information (my current downtime if a source goes offline is ~1 hour)

My third is to commit to improvement, and to always work with experts to provide free and detailed analysis of the world around the area I study.

I have completed my final thesis on the state of affairs in the western fire corridor, and overall the state of climate science in the United States. I would welcome and love any feedback.

NW snowpack hit a record low this year

Worst Pre-Season Conditions in Forty Years of Measurement

The western fire corridor enters 2026 under the worst pre-season conditions in the modern measurement record. Sixty-four percent of SNOTEL stations — 1,012 of 1,570 — recorded all-time low snowpack on April 1. Eight states set records simultaneously. As of May 15, snowpack has collapsed across most of the corridor.

If you're interested in the subject and the location conditions of the PNW please considering visiting my site, and exploring the reports I publish.

Apparently rare example of a 1920 Houze Glass Co. manicure dish. The CPS and dose are significantly higher than what I’ve found online. 1600+ CPS and 168 µSv/hr highest peak.
