Shitnux app developers fail at fucking PAINT

I literally tried both Pinta and KolourPaint. Took me 5 minutes to find bugs and give up on them.

In the case of Pinta: Cannot copy paste images into the program. Everytime I do I get a pop-up that "no image was found in clipboard". Gave it all flatpak permissions - didn't work. Such a basic fucking thing man. I also tried to use the layering to insert stuff in and I just got an error code and app crashed lmao.

In the case of KolourPaint: Copy paste images worked! But... resizing is just alien tech for developers of this program. Every time I tried to resize the image it worsened the quality of the image. Guess it used some sort of "algorithm" to do it instead of just... I don't know... SCALE THE FUCKING IMAGE?

Bro, to crop a FUCKING MEME? Are we insane right now? I just want to do some basic stuff and linux apps are just not delivering the right experience.

Couple issues with Firefox flatpak

As you can see Firefox view does not want to show tabs from other devices, also Plasma Browser Integration refuses to work.

I have Bazzite installed on one machine and Aurora on another. Aurora works perfectly and even makes use of Plasma Browser Integration (which I didn't have high hopes for because it's flatpak).

How come? Both systems are using Firefox flatpak. Is it because of some firewall settings?

To all of the Valve shills recommending Proton and SteamOS.

This is known as SMPTE color bars test pattern. It happens in some games that rely on Microsoft's WMV codec for playing their cutscenes.

The TRUTH is that Valve are just a bunch of cheapskates that DO NOT WANT to pay for patent licenses for VC-1/H.264 and are instead perfectly happy with re-encoding those videos, which happens on demand (that's why some games still face those issues) and can face regressions across different Proton versions.

When you buy (or sail the seven seas for) Windows, you get those codecs automatically, because Microsoft actually cares about their users and pays for licensing fees.

Next time blame Gabe the Scrooge!

Will Vivaldi sync ever get better?

Every time I install Vivaldi on a new device I notice how almost nothing except basic stuff like bookmarks gets synced through. Meanwhile Firefox actually got better and syncs entire layout + extension list + even privacy settings.

I think Vivaldi which is a browser focused on customization should sync more stuff across devices else what's the point of it all? Having to set custom keybindings, download extensions and change basic settings every time I install the browser is painful. I migrate between devices quite often (such is the nature of my job) and I started to choose Firefox more often since one login + sync and I am ready to roll, compared to Vivaldi taking so much time to setup after installation.

When loontard meets gamedev

Git is designed for small text based repos, it does not handle binaries or large repos well. Most gamedev professionals stick to P4 for that very reason - also it's easier to manage for non programmers which is very valuable.

Before anyone mentions git-LFS: it's not a part of git, it's an extension meaning it requires additional setup and might completely break your repo == it's a stupid crutch not suitable for real work.
