Does it get repetitive/ is there lots to do in CH?

I’m wondering if the chapel hill area has lots to do, like if there’s a good bar scene. I think chapel hill is a great town but does it ever get boring for UNC students? are there lots of fun places to go out at night? Lmk!

Sororities

Hi! I’m curious to know which sororities are known to have the kindest members. By that I also mean down to earth and opened minded. I’m not too familiar with Tulane’s Greek life so I want to get a better understanding on the type of girls that are in it. I really only know of KKG and pi beta phi, and what I’ve heard about pi phi is that some girls were racist? Again don’t want to generalize anything, just want to get some opinions! Thank you

Is BC rlly strict

I am just wondering if BC is really religious and strict since it is a Catholic/Jesuit school. I am not too familiar with BC and just wanna know from students if it is hard to “have fun” there. Thank you so much!

Tulane Prestige

Has Tulane lost its prestige for being a known party school? it obv has a very low acceptance rate for rd and ea, and is also highly recognized and known for its academics. I’m js curious if it has lost its prestige over the past years because of how much of a party school it is.

Edit: i’ve js heard it’s lost its prestige after AE attended

Is BC or BU more of a party school?

Hi! I am not too familiar with either BC or BU, but I do know that both schools are very prestigious and well regarded. So ofc that being said, both of these schools are definitely NOT just party schools, but I’m wondering which one is more known for their parties. Lmk, thank youu!

The oc is terrible i can’t lie

Does anyone else think this show is so bad? Like sry i like the whole idea of it and everything, especially living in NB and
OC. I just feel like EVERYTHING is so unrealistic and some of the characters I js cannot stand (Seth). I actually just finished episode 17 rn, and this whole Oliver thing is so weird, and Marissa being so unaware is js pure ragebait. I see a lot of ppl saying that this show fell off in s3 but I feel like it’s already fallen off in s1.

edit: Ok just finished episode 18, and no one rlly cared that oliver pulled out a gun and threatened to khs?? Like that’s prob the most overwhelming thing that happened this season yet it was pretty underwhelming (the scene itself) and to everyone else LMAO. No dramatic music either or anything actually escalating up to that scene lol. and it’s funny to me how seth and ryan just brush it off

When does fantasizing become lustful?

I’m confused between being aroused/horny versus lustful. I’m curious if fantasizing is being lustful, or if it’s natural and normal for everyone. Lmk!

Rush process changing?

Hi, I am just wondering if anyone knows if the sorority rushing process is changing. I heard they’re trying to make Tulane like the other SEC schools like bama and ole miss by “upping” their rushing process and its competitiveness. I was told by a recent grad that sororities (prob not all) will now require a letter of rec from a Tulane alumni that is ALSO an alumni from that sorority. I’m pretty sure not even Bama or Ole miss do this, but I’m also not too familiar with the rush process in general at all, so any info would help. thank you!

The NB bubble

I can’t lie, growing up in NB is so nice and luxurious, but the people are in a complete bubble. I totally love it here and would want to settle here when I’m older, but I know I’ll definitely have to come across the same people that are in HS and that idea just terrifies me sometimes. It’s just everyone is so out of touch and it truly pains me sometimes. I see kids wearing MAGA merch to school sometimes even, I’m like, only in Newport. Also, to be “relevant” at school, you really need to have family connections, be good at your sport, or be rich. People will genuinely use you for your money and it’s insane. And most friendships are built based off if you two are apart of the same country club, or if your dads both work in the same private equity firm or some shit. Not just that, but it’s the norm for your first car to be a BMW, Audi, or Mercedes. And I guess USC is everyone’s dream school here, but I figure they can pay the 100k a year. It’s crazy. And this is just what it’s like as teen, so I wonder how the young adults are. There really is no place like home !

edit after these comments: Damn God forbid I acknowledge the bubble

Tulane Pre College is Unorganized Af

The Tulane Pre college is soooo unorganized. The RCS have literally no idea what they’re doing and aren’t trained properly. One of the RCs this week even drove a pre college student on a golf cart and he speeded while turning a corner and she fell off and hurt her leg. He literally left her and then didn’t hold himself accountable for leaving her! And then when we went to Laser Tag, they didn’t take roll properly and left two students at the laser tag place and had to turn around. This goes for all our excursions, roll isn’t taken properly and is soo unorganized. Our excursion for the Farmers market likewise was supposed to start at 9:30. But the bus arrived at 11:20AM. 11:20 when the market closes at 12. We had to wait in a room for 2 hours and it was ridiculous. The RCS had no idea what to do, and apparently they scheduled the bus wrong or the bus driver got lost or something. This has happened for many other excursions as well. These people need training, don’t send your kid to these camps in hopes for them to have fun activities to do.
And mind you, most people if not all paid the full $5k+ for this camp, and there should not be this many issues.

Out of State Stats class of 2030

Hi! I’m curious about the stats of out of state students who are going to UVA this upcoming fall/school year. I am pretty interested in UVA as someone from CA, but I do know it’s extremely hard to get in to from out of state. It’s quite similar to UNC Chapel Hill in that way. Let me know the stats you guys had that helped you get in to UVA, I would love to get a better idea and understanding! Thank you.

Does Anyone Regret Going Here?

Just wondering if anyone here seriously regrets choosing Tulane. This can be about social life, weather, academics, party scene, dating scene bc there’s more females here than males, etc. just wanna hear some thoughts from anyone who kind of regrets coming here! I really do like it, but I would like to hear other peoples hot takes and regrets and what not. Thank you so much!

Also- I’m not a student here, I just have visited many times and am from CA!

Pendry/Pelican Hill Men

Kind of a weird question, but I heard there’s been a lot of bad incidents and situations at these bars involving men putting stuff in women’s drinks. I also hear a lot that men cheat on their wives at Pelican Hill all the time, and there’s just overall a lot of drama at these places, and some of the men can be kind of shady specifically at these spots in Newport. I’m just curious if anyone has any stories from these places and what they’ve witnessed. Thank you!

CA Governor Decisions as a lifelong Dem

Are there any life-long democrats in CA voting for Hilton this upcoming election? He has great policies, and it would be nice to see CA go through some change for the better. I think Xavier Beccera is a good candidate I just feel like he won’t deliver as strongly as Hilton, and is just your typical progressive Democrat that CA is bound to vote for. I’m also just not sure if Beccera will make any drastic changes, and is honestly just the heir to Gavin Newsom. I do like him, but I really would like to see a change in CA, and by putting CA first before the party I prefer, I think that means voting for Hilton. I also do know that Beccera was funded 13.75 million dollars from large corporations, such as McDonald’s and Meta, aka meaning he’ll put their needs first before the people of CA. And as a lifelong Dem, I think the only way we’ll see CA will go about great change is by voting Republican this year. Let me know what you all think. Thank you!

Conservative or Progressive?

Are the majority of students at Tulane conservative or more liberal? I was under the impression that most students there are progressive and liberal (aka educated jk) but knowing that LA is a red state there’s probably a lot of conservative students as well. I am just curious to know if there’s a balanced amount of both groups and where Tulane’s students lie politically. I’ve been told by locals there that it is actually super conservative, but it’d be nice to get some more info! Thank you!
