Frustrated

I have been on the low FODMAP diet for five days (I know, not long enough) but actually had a very good day yesterday with minimal bloating and pain. Today it’s back to the same old same old. I just want to feel better. I actually think I am having gut motility issues but the gastro office is moving as slow as molasses as far as doing any testing goes. I still haven’t even been scoped.

How long in elimination phase?

How long have most people been in the elimination phase before they started reintroduction? I realize that this depends on symptoms and can vary a lot, but I’m wondering what is average.

I have only been doing this a few days but am already seeing some improvement in symptoms. My gastroenterologist gave me a hand out and said “here, try this” but no other guidance. I have found a lot of information online but am finding this diet sooooo restrictive and hard to follow. We are going on a trip out of the country in mid September and am hoping to be at least mostly through reintroduction by then. Is this doable?

Alaskan seafood

Can anyone recommend a business that sells and ships frozen wild-caught Alaskan seafood to the lower 48? I am finding lots online but am a little afraid to just pick one blindly considering how expensive this stuff is.

How to find info on babies?

My father was an only child but apparently his mother gave birth to twins some time while he was a child. He was old enough to remember it but not any details. The babies were either stillborn or died shortly after birth. They may not have been full term. I don’t know their birthdate or if they were named but this would have most likely been in the late 1930s. They were born in Chicago. Is there any way to find out more about them?

Customer rant!

I live in a fairly small town and Walgreens is my only pharmacy option with my insurance. They keep reducing their pharmacy hours to the point where it is now open 9-5 M-F and the pharmacist is gone for lunch for an hour some time in there. No more extended hours in the evening and no Saturday hours. Not to mention that sometimes they are randomly closed for entire days because they don’t have a pharmacist, but I digress. I get that they are having staffing issues but when exactly is a person with a full time job supposed to pick up prescriptions? I cannot take time off of work for that. Why not 10-6 instead of 9-5? I get that all of the major pharmacy chains are having the same issues but they are going to have to figure something out.

Feeling a little sad

One of my grandchildren, age 3, told me “Nana, I love Grandma and Poopah (the other grandparents) more than I love you”. I know that kids that age have no filter and he does see the other grandparents a lot more than he does us, but I can’t help but feel a little sad about it. When I was a child I think I was closer than one set of grandparents than the other and that this is probably normal, but how do you deal with it?
