Hello! For those with SCC here at metrobank, have you tried making an overlimit purchase? I plan to buy an apple product but I'm short atm by 1.5k HAHAHAHA because my payment hasn't been posted yet.

and is it okay to purchase now because overall, I'm at 80% utilization but because I've made multiple payments, it's down to 52% atm.

Or should I want my SOA to come out, settle the full 52% and then swipe my intended purchase?

btw, this is my first SOA with MB as an SCC holder with them. I hope to swipe it at my security bank because there's no promo for apple huhu.

I just want to share my experience with Metrobank and hopefully, after sharing my very bad experience with them you’ll be able to recommend other bank for SCC with good perks and promos.

I originally opened my savings account with Metrobank using the mobile application. Hence, I do not really have any branch aside from Online Products. Last June 30, I personally visited the branch near me to submit my application for the Save and Swipe program (little higher than the minimum deposit).

It was processed that day, then the following day the deposit was put on hold. By the July 2, I received a notification that my application for unsecured CC was declined. Talked to the customer service and personally reached out to the branch seeking for guidance, and was later on informed the following week na my application for CC was rejected due to incomplete documents. The deposit was later then removed from being put on hold.

Then, I was asked to go again to the branch to confirm my depository branch account because apparently, there is a discrepancy raw with it and my savings account. Reached out to customer service, was referred to email Online Products kasi raw I opened my account online. Emailed Online Products about it and until now, I am yet to receive any update from them. As for my branch, I resubmitted the Deed of Assignment last week and until now, wala talagang balita. Hence, I am leaning toward na mukhang hindi para sa akin ang Metrobank.

With all of these experiences, nakakalungkot lang kasi I really want to build my credit history. So here’s my question, what are the other options po kaya na pwede kong applyan for SCC? :((

Metrobank SCC

Applied for save and swipe last week sa Metrobank and then received a notification that I am rejected for a credit card and was offered instead a secured card. Upon checking, since last week my deposit was already held.

Called the branch today to confirm the status of my application for save and swipe since hold na ang deposit, and they said ang response raw ng credit department ay hindi ma-process because of credit card / system issue.

Just wondering baka po may mga MCC workers here or knowledgeable about this, ano po ang credit card / system issue? They also told me to wait for three to four weeks to know if my application for save and swipe is approved or not (despite being informed na once held ang deposit, automatically ay approved na).

I am so hopeful pa man din na magkaroon ng card with MCC since 100% ng held out deposit ang limit. Perhaps, if hindi ako mabigyan, ilipat ko na lang yung funds ko to my existing secured card with SBC para lumaki yung limit ko doon (currently 96k, with 120k hold-out) :((

Just wondering if the following payments will qualify me for rebates using my secbank wave mc:

1. Smart postpaid subscription
2. Internet connection bill
3. HMO Insurance payment
4. Electricity bill

I was thinking of utilizing my 1st cc kasi for paying these bills sana. If they don’t qualify, may I ask ano yung mga sureball accepted transactions for rebates? Salamat!

Then, yesterday, July 1, the amount I indicated for held-out deposit was already hold (iba na ang available balance ko sa current balance). So I thought okay na, waiting na lang ako mag send sila ng sms na out for delivery na ang card kasi naka-hold na.

Then today, kaninang 5:24 pm, I received an SMS from MCC saying this:

Dear MY NAME, we're unable to move forward with your application at this time. However, we'd love to offer you another option-Metrobank Secured Credit Card.

Ano po kayang ibig sabihin nito? Does this mean ba na inapply ako ng branch officer for a credit card? E as per correspondence naman namin, for save and swipe ang inaapplyan ko talaga. Do I need to visit the branch ba nyan and request for a secured credit card ulit? 😭

Just want to ask what is the best course of action if may lumitaw sa credit report ko from TU kahit na wala naman akong active credit card account or loan account with the specific bank (SBC), to the best of my knowledge?

I called with the reporting bank na rin for clarification, they pulled out all my records based on my full name, birthday, and phone numbers pero walang lumitaw sa system nila (including unsettled, under collections agency, delinquent, etc) at all except for my active savings account with them at the moment.

I also asked all their products under sa name ng bank and among sa mga nabanggit, wala akong inavail at all. Hindi rin daw sya considered as “loan” kasi no promissory number or account number ang meron but rather “card number” with existing balance.

Nabigla lang ako kasi I think because of it literal na bagsak yung credit score ko 🥺🥺 lalo na ang nakalagay sa account status ay BL huhu. Hoping po na may makatulong, salamat po!
