Revit 2025.4 Crashing

Are any of you working in Revit 2025.4, especially on large projects, having an issue with Revit crashing at whim?

I’m currently working on a large healthcare project in Revit 2025.4 that’s located on the ACC. As the project gets larger, many of us working in this project are experiencing crashes, sometimes with doing minor changes. My company has a BIM guy that is keeping track of the crashes. This issue has been brought to Autodesk with no resolution as their excuse is the program is installed on a TSP with a VPN. One suggestion I got was to disable the add-in’s. I disabled the ones I don’t use. The only other thing would be tracing the issue back to the Architect.

Handling Finances for a parent

How many of you have a parent that has handled their own finances their entire adult lives but are now getting to the point where someone needs to take over but the parent refuses to relinquish this task in full? My mother has always handled the finances in our family when I was growing up as she was an accountant, now retired. My parents divorced in the 1990’s and she continued to maintain what she had as a single person. At 83, this is now becoming an issue. At the beginning of this year, my mother switched checking accounts and put me on her account as a joint owner so I can see what’s going on, monitor the account and pay certain bills online as needed. She lives in her home and maintains whatever else is needed. I’m now seeing some mental decline as she has not been maintaining some things that need to be maintained, is extremely stubborn and still wants to handle some things as if it was the 1980’s even though those days are gone. Example, her caregiver company emails the bills to me and these are deducted from her account via debit card. She was explained this at the time this new service was set up but is being belligerent and wants to pay this company her way, by check, instead of the way it’s set up. They don’t take checks and they don’t mail statements.

In addition to being on her checking account, I also have a Durable POA, but have been hesitant about using it yet. The big issue, is she has a certain place she gets her funds but they are only controlled by her when she calls for this. I have no access to this unless I go through hoops and a POA to set something up. Dealing with her currently is a pain in the A$$. How would you handle this?

Perceived to have an aggressive style

I need a little feedback from those that have been in the business for quite a while. Last week I had my yearly performance review with my Supervisor. Every thing went well with our discussion and everyone has been happy with the work I do. I’m a Sr. Electrical Designer with a large multi discipline engineering firm. The issue that came up that has come up in the past with a former supervisor, is I seem to be perceived as somewhat aggressive in my style. I explained, prior to this position, the companies I worked for in the past, I was either the only female or one of a few in the department, so I’ve primarily worked with 95% men my entire career. In order to be heard and sometimes taken seriously, I’ve had to be somewhat aggressive in my style to be respected by my male coworkers. I’m not sure how to change this. My supervisor really couldn’t give me too much advice. I also realize this might be someone’s perception of the way they think I am but I’m not actually that way.

Moles and freckles

I’m in my mid 50’s and just starting to go through menopause. Over the last 10 years or so, I’ve noticed more moles and “freckles” show up on various parts of my body, arms, legs and a couple on my face. The moles seem to be flesh colored but the freckles are light brown with no color changes. Is this a common issue with perimenopause? I’ve never gone to a dermatologist as they haven’t caused any issues but thinking this might be another issue to check up on some time in the near future.

Communication in a long term relationship

This is a question for those of you that are either in long term relationships or marriages.

My partner and I are an older couple in our 50’s and have been together for over 11 years now. We own our own homes and spend time with each other several times a week. We have no children. He is now retired, I work full time from home. The issue we have is just talking to each other on a daily basis and coming up with things to talk about. Typically we have the same daily routine and very limited outside interaction with others so our activities are few, until the weekend where we may go out to eat or run errands together. Talking about work gets old and tiresome. Due to where we live, going other places outside of our current environment can be well over an hour drive one way.

Those of you that are or have been in long term relationships, how to you handle the day to day communication without your partner without just having very limited to say to each other?

Chase Bank Joint Checking

This is a long shot but I figured I would ask. Do any of you have a joint checking account with your parent at Chase Bank? Was the account set up with two separate online login profiles? If so, do both of you have access to see everything going on in the account, not just transactions, but if bill pay and Zelle are set up, do both of you have access to this information in both logins or is it separate?

The reason for asking is my mom and I finally set up a joint account through Chase bank. We have the scenario were we have separate login profiles, were I have bill pay set up in my profile and my mother has Zelle in hers but to have access to these features we’d each have to log into each profile to access these features information. I have asked about internal account linking and told this was not possible. Seems strange since this is the same account. Does this require a trip to the bank?

Company Teams Chats

How many of you work for companies where using group Teams chats as a means of communication within your department with your colleagues on a daily basis is common? This would include asking project questions, code questions, general questions, etc. and sometimes goofing around.

Teams is a vital part of our electrical department between the engineers, EIT’s and all designers. We use it daily for all types of communication. Mechanical, Plumbing and Technology have a similar setup. This works well for those that work hybrid and remote for communication.

I just need a vent. Note, I live out of state. I spent the last week moving my mother out of her ALF apartment and back into her home. She still owns her home. That was an ordeal and I’m exhausted. Other than hiring a moving company to move her things from ALF back to her home, I ended up doing 75% of the work to get her settled back in. During this past week, we also went to 3 doctor’s appointments and transferred the POA into my name. She will now go back to having a caregiver come in 40 hours a week with weekly Nursing checking up on her medical needs. On a positive note, she seems to be doing a little better medically. My Aunt lives in the same subdivision. They just both need to get along.

Edit to add: My mother was evicted from the ALF due to issues she was causing, some of it, medication related. The ALF was also not a good fit for her. When she went in, she was having some medical issues that had not been resolved and medication that was out of wack. Some of this has been addressed and she is doing better.
